EC&I Engineer

Location: Hybrid / West Cumbria

Job type: Full time / Permanent

Delkia is a specialist Systems Integrator (SI) operating throughout the UK and Internationally for safety-related and mission-critical systems in highly regulated sectors, including Clean Energy, Aerospace, Maritime and Defence.

We have an exciting opportunity to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated EC&I Design Engineer to join our dynamic team at Delkia.

Overview of the role:

Successful candidates will be a competent and proven EC&I Design engineer, capable of producing, checking and facilitating designs, drawings, supporting calculations and technical documents (inc. Plans) with minimum supervision. They will have the ability to translate a client’s requirements into a meaningful engineering and technical solution. Good communication skills and EC&I design skills are essential.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain the Engineering Quality of the project delivery, ensuring compliance with client specifications and engineering standards and local domain policy and procedures.
  • Assist in production of conceptual designs, optioneering studies, requirements capture, user requirements specification and use cases.
  • Experience in designing for functional safety systems is desirable.
  • Have experience of lifecycle and maturity management.
  • Quickly self-deliver pragmatic systems solutions from a brief problem statement.
  • Maintain compliance with Engineering Standards and applicable legislation.
  • Participate in Design and System Level Reviews. Ensure that subsequent design meets the project and client requirements.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of data and information received from clients is upheld.
  • Ensure effective project delivery to time and cost.
  • Support and mentor apprentices / graduates (where appropriate).

Desired Qualifications / Prerequisites:

  • Good working knowledge of EC&I Design Software, E.g. Autocad Electrical, E-Plan P8 or similar
  • Ideally educated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline or relevant experience
  • Must be able to obtain or hold suitable security clearance and be a British National
  • Conversant with the Office 365 suite of software
  • Plant process knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge of one or more of a variety of PES technologies โ€“ PLC, SCADA, DCS, SQL Server, Modicon M, MIS/HLS
