Overview
About the Role - We are looking for an experienced IT engineer to join our Corporate Engineering team, partake in the continued development and implementation of corporate engineering initiatives and supporting the mission and growth of Instacart. Reporting to the Senior Manager of IT PMO & Corporate Engineering, you will provide technology support in areas such as client platform, IT security, and IT solutions engineering. You must have well-developed and highly effective listening, communication, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments.
About the Job
- Responsible for standard configuration, user administration, security, workflow, data management and integrations for applications such as Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, and similar tools, ensuring alignments with security best practices.
- Manage the administration, day-to-day operations, and troubleshooting of SaaS applications, endpoint management, and identity processes. Ensure these systems operate efficiently while adhering to security protocols.
- Partner with IT Corporate Security to regularly assess the organization’s security posture for IT systems and processes. Propose actionable improvements to address vulnerabilities and safeguard company data.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, assessing potential benefits and implementation strategies to enhance system efficiency, security, and scalability.
- Monitor system performance, address bottlenecks, and implement solutions to maintain efficiency and stability.
- Perform regular system updates and patches, ensuring the latest security standards are applied.
- Develop and maintain clear and concise documentation for system configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and knowledge transfer.
- Partner with IT Project Managers, IT Support, and third-party vendors for IT projects, such as software upgrades, tool implementations, and security enhancements.
About You
Minimum Qualifications
- 2-3 years of IT engineering or technical operations experience.
- Strong knowledge of common enterprise applications such as Atlassian, Google Workspace, Intune, Jamf, Slack and Zoom.
- Deep understanding of standard protocols, such as SCIM, SAML, OIDC, APIs, and identity & security best practices.
- Experience with Okta administration and configuring SAML, SSO, Automation, Provisioning/De-Provisioning of Accounts, Okta Workflows, Access Request designs, and orchestration tools.
- Familiarity scripting or tool building in a modern language, with Python preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex technical challenges.
- A consistent track record of delivering a range of small to medium projects.
- Demonstrated understanding of information security principles and IT infrastructure best practices.
- Self motivated.
- A strong sense of ownership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project management experience or certification
- Jamf administration experience, and/or certifications
- Okta Certified Administrator or Developer certification
Instacart provides highly market-competitive compensation and benefits in each location where our employees work. This role is remote and the base pay range for a successful candidate is dependent on their permanent work location. Please review our Flex First remote work policy here.
