In the last few years, software businesses have gone from not having to worry about sales tax, to needing to monitor their exposure, calculate local sales tax rates, and file returns in over 20 US states and many countries worldwide.

So much of our economy today and tomorrow exists online. The internet economy has grown 6x over the last 10 years and software development productivity is only positioned to accelerate. Companies should be able to transact with customers everywhere. Anrok is building the tools behind the scenes that make compliant digital commerce a reality for companies big and small.

Anrok connects with billing and payment systems to automate sales tax compliance end-to-end. We have raised over $50M from leading investors like Sequoia, Index, and Khosla Ventures. For those that call the Bay Area home, we work 3 days a week from our Embarcadero office, and work from home 2 days a week.

The Core Finance Team owns the tax calculation, report generation, and payment systems  for Anrok customers.

As a software engineering manager at Anrok, you have the opportunity to craft and implement processes for an effective team, help prioritize the roadmap, and coach and develop engineers. We work primarily in TypeScript and React, but prior experience is not required.

In this role, you will:

  • Work on and manage a talented team building innovative calculation, reporting, and payment products.

  • Set the product and technical strategy and implement processes for high-quality execution.

  • Contribute directly to the successful delivery of the team’s roadmap through both writing and reviewing code.

  • Recruit and mentor engineers.

  • Foster a collaborative and healthy culture of feedback, opportunity, and growth for the team.

  • Contribute to the Anrok engineering culture and initiatives.

For employees based in the San Francisco Bay Area, we follow a hybrid model. Where we come into the office 3 days a week to collaborate in person. For employees located outside of the San Francisco Bay Area, you will work remotely full-time
