About Anomalo
We offer a complete data quality platform that automatically finds and explains problems in enterprise data. We founded Anomalo in 2018.
We use AI and unsupervised machine learning to monitor structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data. Our platform doesn’t need manual setup, custom code, or predefined rules. We help businesses quickly find, diagnose, and fix data issues before they affect operations, analytics, or AI projects.
Our platform integrates with cloud data lakes, warehouses, orchestrators, and ETL tools. Users connect their data, turn on AI monitoring, and can customize it with rules and KPIs using a no-code interface or API. We then provide automated alerts, root cause analysis, and data lineage tools to quickly resolve issues.
Our approach combines metadata-based observability, AI-driven anomaly detection, and user-defined validation rules with KPI tracking. This ensures data is accurate, complete, and ready for reliable AI outcomes.
Anomalo is backed by investors like Two Sigma and SignalFire, and we partner with Databricks and Snowflake. We integrate with many data warehouses and lakehouses, including Google Big Query, Amazon Redshift, Amazon Athena, Azure Synapse Analytics, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and AlloyDB.
We also integrate with data governance tools such as Alation, DataHub, Atlan, and Microsoft Purview, and with collaboration and alerting tools like Slack, Microsoft Teams, PagerDuty, Opsgenie, Webhooks, and Jira. For identity management, we integrate with Okta, OneLogin, OpenID, and SAML v2.0. Our platform also works with orchestration tools like dbt, Google, Apache Airflow, Databricks Notebooks, Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, and Databricks.
Our customers include Atlassian, Block, Buzzfeed, Casey’s, Discover, Evidation, Fandom, Home to Go, Included Health, Keller Williams, and Notion.
Mission & Values
Our co-founders, Elliot Shmukler and Jeremy Stanley, started Anomalo after facing data quality problems at Instacart. They decided to create an AI-driven way to find unusual data and “unknown unknowns” efficiently.
We operate by six core values:
- Own It: We take responsibility for getting the best results across the company.
- Opacity Zero: We practice thoughtful transparency to enable autonomous work and decision-making.
- Act & Adapt: We prioritize action, learn from mistakes, and continuously improve with humility and curiosity.
- Thrive Together: We embrace diversity, assume best intentions, and support each other’s success.
- Customer Focus: We anticipate, innovate for, and deliver what matters most to our current and future customers.
- Work Smart: We emphasize outcomes over hours, allowing our employees to work when, where, and how they are most effective.
Team & Culture
We are a fully remote company, founded in 2018, with 51-200 employees. Our culture is values-driven, open, and transparent, and we support autonomy and individual growth. We encourage employees to work from where they are most productive.
We foster collaboration through daily communication using remote-friendly tools across time zones, with an expectation that team members are available during certain core hours. We organize quarterly company-wide offsites in new destinations, and employees are expected to attend these to build connections. We also host annual in-person engineering hackathons.
Our leadership team includes co-founders Elliot Shmukler (CEO) and Jeremy Stanley (Chief Scientist), along with Richard Hoyland (President - Global Field Operations), Amy Reams (VP of Marketing and Business Development), Ann Heaps (VP of People and Talent), Bill Watt (VP and Chief of Staff), David Russell (VP, Global Sales), Emily Moran (VP of Finance), Jerry Sharum (General Counsel), and Kirby Frugia (VP of Engineering).
We focus on hiring individuals from diverse backgrounds and perspectives because we believe diversity strengthens our team and product.
