Job Description

At Voyage Privé, the digital/tech team is organized in four key domains covering all the critical stakes of our business and working in deep collaboration with all the other departments of the company. Each domain is composed of squads grouping Product, Data, Engineering, Business Representative, collectively in charge of crafting and delivering the domain’s strategy and roadmap.

Stay is one of these four domains, dealing with the heart of our business model, and is composed of 2 sub-domains:

  • Supply. Mission: generate new business opportunities and strengthen relationships with service providers like hotels, activities, tours, to expand our offers.

  • Connectivity. Mission: build and enhance the tech platform connecting with supply partners (air, hotel, additional services) and optimize the platform for business efficiency and user experience performance.

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager for the Connectivity sub-domain and squad, to design, lead, and evolve our connectivity platform and all its components. This key role will build a robust and scalable infrastructure enabling the integration of data and services from multiple partners (hotel aggregators, airlines, and option providers such as Amadeus Hospitality, Sabre, Travelport, GetYourGuide, etc.).

As an Engineering Manager, you will combine expertise in distributed environments (processing and storage) with leadership skills to construct a reference platform.

Key Responsibilities:

Platform Design and Development

  • Design and implement a scalable, distributed platform architecture capable of handling large volumes of real-time data.

  • Develop robust connectors to integrate with third-party APIs and services (Amadeus Hospitality, Sabre, etc.) for managing connected deals with suppliers (in terms of prices and stocks).

  • Optimize processing performance (latency, availability, resilience) while ensuring data flow security.

  • Oversee data processing and storage in distributed environments.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business objectives.

  • Manage project priorities, resources, and timelines in an Agile environment.

Strategic Planning

  • Contribute to long-term technical strategy for the connectivity platform.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in distributed systems and data integration.

Qualifications

Technical Expertise

  • Mastery of Java and associated frameworks (Spring, Quarkus …).

  • Solid experience in distributed systems and large-scale data processing.

  • Knowledge of distributed databases (Cassandra, MongoDB, or others).

  • Experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).

  • Deep understanding of REST APIs and data integration standards.

  • 7-9 years of total experience, including 4-5 years in a managerial role and 3-4 years in the domain.

  • Experience or knowledge of hotel, airline, and/or option aggregators (Amadeus Hospitality, Sabre, Travelport, GetYourGuide, etc.).

  • Understanding of business flows related to reservation systems (hotels, flights, activities).

Leadership and Communication

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate technical teams.

  • Excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
