The Role

At Medely, every team operates our business through amazing web experiences built specifically to deliver value to customers, whether on the supply or demand side of our market. Working with back end and mobile engineers, the Staff Front End Engineer will create and maintain impactful tools critical to keeping Medely’s technical platforms exciting and new, delivering value to both healthcare facilities and professionals.

As a key member of the engineering team and reporting to a Director of Engineering, the Staff Front End Engineer will act as the front end technical lead for their team, both leading the development process andΒ  writing GraphQL server-side and client-side code for web applications to improve Medely’s core experience. We’re looking for engineers who are passionate about developing impactful, high performance web applications using up-to-date technologies and patterns.

The Impact You’ll Make:

  • Act as front end technical lead for cross- functional agile software engineering team

  • Lead code and design reviews, listening to feedback while sharing your knowledge with other members of the team

  • Work with product managers, designers, and engineering leadership team to drive architecture and product features

  • Design and implement highly visible user-facing features and applications

  • Deploy testable front end code with performance, maintainability, and scale in mind

Who You Are:

  • BS/BA in a technical field such as computer science or equivalent experience

  • 7+ years of professional front end development experience; 3+ years of experience in React, including experience with state management, animations, and Webpack

  • Experience working as a technical lead and/or architect for an Agile Engineering team

  • Experience mentoring and investing in the development of engineers and peers

  • Experience in delivering features through production

  • Awareness of performance considerations such as cross-browser compatibility, componentization, and load-time optimizations

  • Strong understanding of GraphQL server development and GraphQL-focused architecture

  • Strong understanding of React/JavaScript frameworks

  • Experience architecting single-page applications and/or mobile- first web applications

  • Ability to collaborate across multiple teams and be willing to roll up your sleeves and execute

  • Experience with React Native

  • Working with complex front end projects with highly interactive features

  • Experience developing with and integrating APIs
