We are looking for an experienced Frontend Engineer to join our Design Systems team, which builds tools and drives ways of working that empower our internal teams to efficiently build and deliver scalable, high-craft, and cohesive experiences that meet the expectations of our upmarket customers.

You will have company-wide impact, empowering other Vanta engineers and designers to meet B2B SaaS customer expectations for UI consistency, performant data flow, accessible and locale-formatted experiences using cutting-edge technologies.

Ideal candidates have a proven track record of delivering impactful solutions that streamline developer workflows, with expertise in building and maintaining a system of rich UI components, developer friendly APIs, leveraging design tokens for clean abstractions, and implementing and testing for internationalization, localization, and accessibility throughout. You will play an important role in facilitating consistent and performant user experiences, as well as improving the productivity of all engineers at Vanta.

What you’ll do as a Frontend Engineer at Vanta:

  • Improve and scale our internal design system components and accompanying documentation

  • Build and maintain UI and frontend infrastructure that reduces overhead and migration costs for product engineering teams

  • Improve frontend code best practices and champion with all engineers, designers, and product partners

  • Advocate for product quality and collaborate with product engineering teams on cross cutting issues

  • Work with talented and kind engineers to make a significant impact on our customer base, enabling them to improve their security and prove it

  • Contribute to building Vanta’s engineering culture as we grow

How to be successful in this role:

  • Have experience building and maintaining software services and infrastructure platforms

  • Have a deep understanding of React, TypeScript, and GraphQL

  • Have a deep understanding of writing and testing performant web client code

  • Have experience writing codemods and migration automations

  • Have experience with crafting intuitive and high quality user experiences

  • Have a clear product sense for developer tooling and building extensible APIs

  • Have experience working on and/or leading technical initiatives involving web performance, frontend infrastructure, or developer productivity
