The Government Account Director will be responsible for selling into and supporting US Federal Government Agencies such as the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Department of Defense (DoD). The successful candidate will formulate robust account strategies that result in broad/strong customer relationships as well as sales across their assigned customer base with the expectation of meeting/exceeding monthly, quarterly & annual sales goals. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of selling into the federal government and creating relationships with key personnel in the pharmacy departments of government agencies.
Key Accountabilities:
- Create and execute a Federal Account Strategy in partnership with the Field Sales team
- Daily review of VA bids
- Ensure knowledge of Federal Accounts is appropriately shared with the Field Sales Teams to create opportunities for cross functional collaboration with peers
- Facilitating access to government contracts by helping remove barriers inside the VA & DoD Accounts
- Developing and executing Pull-Through Strategy for individual Telix products
- Setting up educational product in-services through Pharmacy and Oncology Departments
- Educating Field Sales Team to ensure they have a clear understanding of the VA/DoD Rules of Engagement
- Collaborating with Area Business Directors
- Communicating on all VA activity within their territory
- Working and collaborating with KOL’s within the US
- Data review to ensure increasing and defending product market share
- Drafting and submitting bids for VA and DoD contracts
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year University required, Master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years of account management required
- Strong understanding of Federal contracting with prior experience selling into the US Federal Government
- Experience in Nuclear Medicine, Oncology or Urology, Strategic/National Account Management preferred
- Existing understanding of and relationships within the Federal Healthcare ecosystem
- Ability to obtain a US Government clearances if required
- Demonstrated success and consistency in achieving targeted sales goals.
- Exceptional customer service and relationship building and maintaining skills.
- Thorough understanding of account management and the strategic selling process.
- Effective problem solving, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
