Summary
The job description is for a Junior Structural Bridge Engineer position in the Scranton, PA office. The employee will assist senior level bridge staff with analysis, design, detailing and inspection on local and State DOT projects. Other responsibilities may include report preparation, field reconnaissance and inspection, project rendering, attending meetings and conferences, and completing miscellaneous structural designs. A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in structural engineering from an ABET Accredited College is required, along with 0 to 5 years of experience and the ability to obtain EIT Certificate within 12 months (PE License is a plus). Familiarity with reinforced concrete and steel design, strong communication and organization skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications are also required. Preferred qualifications include experience with MicroStation, AutoCAD, SAP2000, Midas Civil, EnerCalc, and MathCAD, as well as experience with PennDOT and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission projects and their design software.
