Management Consultant, Senior Project Manager – St. Louis

Position Overview
This is a 4-month contract position with the possibility of being a contract to hire position, with our client in St. Louis. Ideal candidates will be located in St. Louis, but we will consider strong candidates outside the area that are willing to commit to about 25% travel to the client site. Candidates should have 7+ years of experience in project management. We are looking for a solution-oriented creative problem solver with an appreciation for the details, to lead a Commercial Project Management team. This position will play a pivotal role overseeing various aspects of the Project Lifecycle Methodology, including changes and cost savings opportunities that contribute to business growth, brand maintenance and efficiency initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven project management track record leading and delivering large, complex projects in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG).
Essential Functions
- Develop and implement project management processes and best practices to streamline the new product development cycle.
- Lead, mentor and motivate a team of project managers, providing guidance and support to ensure project objectives are met.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, marketing, sales, manufacturing, and supply chain, influencing others to drive alignment and execution throughout the product development process.
- Clarify key priorities with senior leadership, ensuring cross-functional alignment while balancing resources against those with the most impact to the business.
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables, and develop comprehensive project plans to ensure timely and successful execution.
- Manage project resources and timelines, identifying and mitigating risks and issues as they arise.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure project performance and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the project management team and across the organization.
- Manage individual project initiatives, in addition to overseeing team.
- Champion process improvement initiatives within project management practices, seeking ways to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance project outcomes.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decision-making and identify new opportunities for growth.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to a team of project managements, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Motivate and inspire team members to consistently meet or exceed project objectives and performance expectations.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and execution throughout the product development process.
- Regularly monitor and report on project progress against established KPIs, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, project management, engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in project management, with a proven track record of successfully leading complex projects in a fast-paced environment, preferably within the CPG industry.

Preferred Qualifications
- PMP/CPM certification or equivalent preferred.
Location and Compensation
This is a 4-month contract position with the possibility of turning into a contract to hire position. The position is full time and will be a 1099 arrangement. The position is hybrid if located in St. Louis. Travel Requirements: 25% if not located in St. Louis.
