The Strategy team at Allbirds plays a critical role in helping the company achieve its long-term business objectives while advancing our mission to make better things in a better way. As the business continues to grow and evolve, this team serves as a strategic connector—ensuring we focus on the right priorities, make data-informed decisions, and execute with clarity and accountability. By partnering closely with cross-functional leaders, the Strategy team drives alignment, brings structure to ambiguity, and helps turn high-level ideas into actionable initiatives that move the company forward.
What does the job entail?
- Support the development and execution of the company’s strategic vision, helping to identify growth opportunities, improve business operations, and drive toward key financial goals.
- Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives—facilitate planning, execution, and tracking of high-impact projects that support the company’s long-range plan.
- Coordinate the bi-weekly Strategy Office review process, aligning on priorities, coordinating cross-functional resources, and preparing updates for the executive team.
- Own the development of executive-facing materials for milestone meetings including Quarterly Hindsights, Monthly Business Reviews, and Board of Directors meetings. Ensure insights are clear, actions are tracked, and next steps are followed through.
- Drive accountability and momentum on strategic initiatives by acting as an information aggregator, data translator, and thought partner across teams; communicate status updates to leadership regularly.
- Partner closely with the Analytics team to surface business insights, develop hypotheses, and identify emerging trends that inform strategic priorities. Collaborate with business teams to shape and refine initiatives based on data-driven learnings.
- Build and maintain dashboards to enable performance measurement, guide strategic decisions, and monitor progress toward company goals. Continuously enhance dashboards and work toward automation to scale insight delivery.
- Project manage new business initiatives—clarify objectives, define project phases, manage timelines, identify risks, and align cross-functional stakeholders to ensure execution.
- Contribute to annual and long-range strategic planning processes, including scenario modeling, initiative roadmapping, and alignment with financial planning.
- Leverage SQL and Looker to access and analyze data from multiple sources; use Excel/Google Sheets to develop structured, repeatable tools and insights for the business.
What kind of person are we looking for?
- 5+ years of experience in a highly analytical, strategic role such as management consulting, corporate strategy, business operations, financial planning & analysis, or retail planning.
- Retail or consumer-facing industry experience is strongly preferred—you understand core retail KPIs, marketing funnel dynamics, and product margin economics
- Financial modeling and business case development come naturally to you—you can distill data into actionable insights and clear executive-ready recommendations.
- Project manager at heart—you’ve led cross-functional workstreams from strategy through execution and consistently deliver against key milestones
- Experience supporting executive decision-making—you’ve built board decks, delivered strategic updates, or created frameworks that shape the direction of a company or function.
- Entrepreneurial and adaptable—you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and ambiguous environment, and are known for taking initiative to streamline processes and improve decision-making
- Strategic thinker, tactical executor—you can define the long-term vision and roll up your sleeves to get the details right
- Collaborative and persuasive—you work seamlessly across teams like Marketing, Finance, Analytics, Merchandising, and Planning, and can influence without authority
More practical skills needed:
- BA/BS degree required, preferably in a quantitative field such as Business, Economics, Engineering, or Mathematics; MBA preferred but not required
- Advanced Excel and Google Sheets modeling skills are essential—you build clean, dynamic models from scratch and automate manual processes
- Expertise in Looker or similar BI tools is a must—you build dashboards, surface trends, and develop tools that enable self-service insights for business partners
- Proficient in SQL—you’re comfortable writing queries and exploring large datasets independently
- Experience with Python or other big data tools is a plus—especially for cleaning and manipulating large datasets
- Experience with Google Apps Script is highly preferred—you’ve automated planning, reporting, or business operations workflows in Google Sheets
- Passion for sustainability and a genuine interest in Allbirds’ mission.
What do we offer?
This position is in office (San Francisco or Portland), or remote eligible. The pay range for this role is: $118,000 - $ 130,000.
Allbirds routinely evaluate pay rates, and the ranges are subject to change based on market rates and other considerations. We factor in a number of components when determining starting pay, including the job and level you are hired into, location, skillset, experience and peer compensation.

Work Environment
Work takes place in an office setting. This job may require working more than 8 hours daily and 40 hours weekly. It requires sitting and working at a computer for extended periods and communicating effectively with a diverse audience in person, by phone, and by computer. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift, push, and carry up to 10 lbs frequently and up to 15 lbs occasionally.
