Job description
This is a remote-first role that can be held in Canada or the United States .
Jobber exists to help people in small businesses be successful. We work with small home service businesses, like your local plumbers, electricians, painters, and landscapers, to transform the way service is delivered through technology. With Jobber they can quote, schedule, invoice, and collect payments from their customers, while providing an easy and professional customer experience. Running a small business today isn’t like it used to be—the way we consume and deliver service is changing rapidly, technology is evolving, and customers expect more. That’s why we put the power and flexibility in their hands to run their businesses how, where, and when they want.
Our culture of transparency, inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation has been recognized by Great Place to Work, Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures, and more. Jobber has also been named on the Globe and Mail’s Canada’s Top Growing Companies list, and Deloitte Canada’s Technology Fast 50™, Enterprise Fast 15, and Technology Fast 500™ lists. With an Executive team that has over thirty years of industry experience of leading the way, we’ve come a long way from our first customer in 2011—but we’ve just scratched the surface of what we want to accomplish for our customers.
The team:
Jobber is on a mission to empower home service providers to run, grow, and optimize their businesses—transforming the way small businesses operate, scale, and achieve their ambitions. We’re relentlessly customer-focused, embedding deep insights and advanced AI directly into our product to deliver exceptional experiences and tangible results for our customers.
As a key leader within the Platforms & Partnerships group on the Product team—and a valued member of Jobber’s broader Design team—you’ll collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineers to shape and grow Jobber’s product ecosystem. Your work will focus on building best-in-class third-party software integrations, developer experiences, enterprise-scale solutions and software that reflects strategic business partnerships.
Product Design at Jobber is decentralized: you’ll lead design efforts alongside cross-functional partners within your group. Platforms & Partnerships is a critical part of our business, building foundational tools and services that deliver measurable value to hundreds of thousands of service pros around the world.
The role:
Reporting to the Director of Product Design, you’ll play a key leadership role in shaping the future of Jobber’s integrations and partnership capabilities. As a Manager of Product Design, you’ll partner closely with cross-functional leaders to define and drive a vision for app integrations, automated workflows, multi-unit franchises and third-party supply partnerships—all of which are core to expanding our platform’s value.
In this hybrid role, you’ll lead and mentor a team of designers while also contributing directly to the design and strategic direction of your group. You’ll champion consistency across the Jobber product experience while also working to unlock new forms of value for our customers through thoughtful, scalable integration design. Your work will have a meaningful, measurable impact on the lives and businesses of home service professionals across North America.
As a Manager of Product Design at Jobber, you’ll transform complex ideas into intuitive, impactful user experiences - while mentoring and guiding a design team. You’ll help shape the long-term vision and north star for the Platforms & Partnerships group, ensuring our solutions drive meaningful outcomes for customers and the business.
You’ll lead with a deep understanding of user needs—uncovering pain points through research, surfacing opportunities, and validating concepts through testing. From insight to execution, you’ll guide your team in delivering polished interfaces and seamless product experiences that raise the bar for customer success.
As a Manager of Product Design, you will:
- Act as a senior design leader within a cross-functional product group, managing creative, high-impact solutions that drive customer value across Jobber’s platform.
- Manage and grow a team of 2–4 designers, providing coaching, mentorship, and regular performance feedback to support their career growth.
- Build and inspire a high-performing design team by fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Champion a customer-centric and data-informed design culture, leveraging qualitative and quantitative research to uncover insights and influence decisions.
- Set and communicate a clear design vision for your team and stakeholders, shaping scalable solutions through research, wireframes, flows, prototypes, and detailed specs.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering leaders in the Platforms & Partnerships product groups to define a shared vision, align priorities, and deliver cohesive, high-quality user experiences.
- Represent Design at the Leadership Team level, helping shape and drive our long-term UX strategy in alignment with company goals.
- Showcase the impact of design through measurable outcomes, celebrating user experience wins and team achievements.
- Strengthen Jobber’s design team by attracting top talent, supporting team visibility (e.g. speaking opportunities), and cultivating a strong external talent pipeline.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, competitive offerings, and emerging technologies—including AI—to inform and elevate the design of personalized customer experiences.
To be successful, you should have:
- 6+ years of professional experience designing web or mobile SaaS products, ideally with experience working in partnerships and integrations (or related fields).
- 2+ years of experience as a people manager, directly responsible for managing and mentoring designers.
- Proven success in senior design or UX leadership roles within high-growth SaaS environments, collaborating across executive and IC levels.
- Strong understanding of SMB and/or B2B audiences, with insight into diverse user needs and behaviours.
- Expertise in both visual and interaction design, backed by a strong portfolio of polished, user-centered work.
- Mastery of modern design tools (e.g. Figma, FigJam, ChatGPT, pencil & paper), with a clear sense of when and how to use them effectively.
- Skilled in leading both qualitative and quantitative research to inform and validate design decisions; adept at synthesizing data to drive product direction.
- A strategic thinker who aligns UX initiatives with product vision and business goals, and knows how to tell a compelling design story to stakeholders.
- Experienced in cross-functional collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams to deliver cohesive, scalable experiences at speed.
- Passionate about AI and future-forward technologies, with hands-on experience leveraging LLMs or other AI tools in both product and design workflows.
- Actively engaged in the design community, with a strong network and commitment to talent development across all career stages.
- Deeply motivated by Jobber’s mission to empower small businesses, and energized by the opportunity to design a product used by millions.
