We have an exciting opportunity for a Tax Manager to join our expanding team. Under the direction of the VP of Tax, this individual will be a vital member of our tax team providing guidance and expertise in tax planning, compliance, and financial statement reporting. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with internal stakeholders to develop innovative tax strategies and solutions that align with our business objectives, including International, U.S. Federal, State, and local taxes.

This position is a hands-on role and will also oversee the company’s indirect tax compliance, processes, and accounting, including local state filings such as sales, occupancy, property, and business taxes, so a strong state and local tax background is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee indirect tax function, which includes preparation and review of filing sales & use taxes, personal property tax, and miscellaneous local taxes across all jurisdictions.
  • Lead state and local income and indirect tax audits and related controversy
  • Assist in the preparation of the year-end tax provision and related footnote disclosures.
  • Analyze implications of changes in federal and state tax laws and implement necessary changes.
  • With VP – Tax, develop and implement state and local tax planning strategies
  • Assist in collaborative review of the externally prepared tax return packages, estimated payments, and return to provision analysis.
  • Shared responsibility for managing relationships with advisors, consultants, and auditors
  • Research and document positions taken on complex tax issues and efficient strategies for managing liabilities and risks
  • Accountable for process improvement within the tax function to ensure the most efficient process for timely reporting and filing
  • Special strategic tax projects and other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of relevant tax experience in public accounting and multinational company preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, Finance or Accounting. Equivalent professional tax experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • CPA certified or CPA candidacy
  • Experience with a major ERP system (Oracle preferred)
  • Proficient Excel skills
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Able to work independently
  • Experience in large S corporate or partnership income tax return preparation in a multi-state environment preferred
  • Working knowledge of state tax code and industry specialization a plus
  • Strong work ethic, team player with strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask under various deadlines

Compensation: Aya reasonably anticipates the pay scale for this position to be $130,000 to $170,000 annually.

The pay scale for this position may vary if applicant possesses experience outside of what Aya reasonably anticipates for this position. Bonuses are subject to the role and your manager’s discretion.
