Department overview:
The Marketing team is a team of agile, collaborative and data-driven marketers and creative professionals. We are responsible for driving engagement via email, the largest marketing channel at Kiva, and helping design end-to-end user experiences to improve retention. Our team sits under the larger umbrella of the Product and Design team. We are responsible for engaging lenders to help crowdfund loans to marginalized entrepreneurs around the world as well as engaging donors to contribute to Kiva’s mission to expand financial access.
Role overview:
The Marketing Manager plays a critical role in implementing the strategy, execution, and optimization of Kiva’s marketing campaigns, with a focus on driving engagement, retention, and growth. This position will be a strong voice on the marketing team and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure that campaigns are aligned with Kiva’s mission and strategic goals. You will use strategic thinking, creative problem-solving skills, and data analysis expertise to drive impactful initiatives from start to finish for our organization and impact for the communities we serve.

Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and optimize email marketing strategies for annual and ongoing campaigns, overseeing the email marketing calendar, segmentation, personalization, and A/B testing to improve performance and drive engagement and retention.
- Collaborate with the Creative Studio to develop and optimize campaign assets, ensuring creative excellence and consistency across all channels.
- Use data analysis to evaluate the performance of campaigns, conducting regular performance reviews and suggesting strategic adjustments to maximize impact.
- Identify new opportunities for growth and engagement based on market trends, audience behavior, and campaign insights.
- Lead the planning and execution of key marketing initiatives, managing timelines and resources effectively.
- Work cross-functionally with teams such as Product, Customer Success, and Engineering to ensure integrated and effective campaign execution and user experiences.
- Manage and maintain marketing tools such as Iterable, Asana, Figma, and Google Workspace and leverage data to drive informed decision-making.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in marketing to drive continuous improvement in strategies and tactics.
- Ensure compliance with marketing regulations and best practices, particularly related to email marketing, customer privacy, and CAN-SPAM.
Preferred qualifications:
- 3-5 years of email marketing experience with a proven track record of leading successful campaigns and driving growth.
- Strong background in email marketing, with expertise in campaign strategy, segmentation, A/B testing, and optimization.
- Excellent data analysis skills, with the ability to interpret performance metrics, document and share findings, and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Demonstrated experience in multi-channel marketing, including email and on-site optimization.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage complex campaigns and deadlines across multiple teams.
- Creative and strategic thinker with the ability to innovate and develop compelling marketing ideas.
- Experience with marketing tools such as Iterable, Figma, Asana, Google Workspace, and analytics platforms.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

- Salary range: $70K - $85K; a final offer will be dependent upon a candidate’s location, skills and experience.
