About the role:

dbt Labs is looking for a strategic and results-driven Marketing Strategy & Planning Manager to be a thought partner to our Marketing and GTM leadership. This individual will drive core planning processes, surface data-driven insights, and shape strategic initiatives that directly impact how we generate pipeline and revenue.

The ideal candidate thrives on solving complex problems with data, has a deep understanding of the B2B marketing funnel, and is excited to partner across functions to drive better outcomes. You’ll work cross-functionally with Marketing, RevOps, Finance, and Data to build scalable systems, guide marketing performance, and inform key investment decisions.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Own Marketing Planning & Forecasting: Drive quarterly and annual planning efforts including pipeline targets, campaign forecasting, and strategic growth modeling (ABM, PLG, Self-Serve).
  • Guide Data-Informed Strategy: Deliver actionable insights through rigorous data analysis to support marketing tactics, channel optimization, and ROI-based decision-making.
  • Optimize Marketing Performance: Evaluate campaign and program effectiveness through funnel performance, engagement metrics, and buyer journey analytics.
  • Build & Maintain Dashboards: Develop and enhance Tableau dashboards in partnership with the data team to enable real-time performance tracking across marketing.
  • Support Budgeting & Headcount Planning: Partner with Finance and RevOps to support investment decisions and ensure resource alignment with pipeline and revenue goals.
  • Influence Cross-Functional Projects: Contribute to key GTM initiatives with data-driven recommendations, helping improve execution in areas like PLG and account-based strategies.
  • Communicate Insights to Leadership: Transform raw data into executive-level presentations that influence strategic decisions and improve operational execution.

You are a good fit if you:

  • 4–6+ years of experience in marketing analytics, marketing strategy, or business planning
  • Strong command of the B2B lead-to-opportunity pipeline and sales lifecycle
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Tableau (or equivalent BI tools), and Google Sheets
  • Excellent storytelling and data visualization skills—able to simplify complex findings into crisp narratives
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional peers
  • Experience with Salesforce and familiarity with the broader marketing tech stack (e.g., Marketo, Segment)
  • Strategic thinker who can operate at both tactical and long-term planning levels
  • Bonus: Experience with LTV modeling, attribution methodologies, or PLG metrics
  • Bonus: Familiarity with Python, R, or SAS for more advanced statistical analysis
