About the role:
The Network Manager is a key technical leader responsible for the vision, strategy, and execution of Softheon’s network infrastructure. This role oversees all aspects of network engineering, drives innovation, ensures operational excellence, and leads a team of network professionals. The Network Manager partners with senior leadership to align network initiatives with business objectives and regulatory requirements, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
You Will:
Strategic Leadership & Planning
Develop and execute the network technology roadmap to support current and future business needs.
Lead cross-functional initiatives to modernize and secure network infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.
Provide technical leadership and guidance for large-scale network projects and migrations.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of network engineers and administrators.
Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and support career growth.
Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and best practices.
Network Architecture & Engineering Excellence
Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise network solutions.
Ensure network architectures are secure, scalable, and aligned with industry best practices.
Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to enhance performance, reliability, and security.
Operational Management & Support
Oversee advanced troubleshooting and resolution of complex network issues.
Manage critical incident response and root cause analysis.
Ensure high availability and reliability of network services through proactive monitoring and maintenance.
Security, Compliance & Risk Management
Define and enforce network security policies and controls.
Collaborate with the Security Team to address vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS).
Lead security assessments and remediation efforts.
Vendor, Stakeholder & Executive Engagement
Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for network equipment and services.
Collaborate with senior leadership and business stakeholders to align network strategy with organizational goals.
Communicate network strategy, risks, and performance to executives in a clear and actionable manner.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
Drive automation, process improvement, and operational efficiency initiatives.
Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes.
Champion the adoption of best practices and innovative solutions across the organization.
Talent Management
Partner with the Talent and Infrastructure leadership teams in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new team members.
Contribute to building a high-performing team by coaching others, sharing knowledge, and promoting skill development across infrastructure domains.
Advocate for a collaborative, inclusive, and transparent work culture that aligns with organizational values.
Additional Responsibilities
Must be available for on-call duty during peak periods, providing support outside of regular working hours as needed to ensure the timely resolution of critical issues.
Although we work in a remote-first environment, all roles requires in-person attendance at our headquarters approximately 2 times per year(in addition to other travel requirements for this specific role, if applicable). These visits are essential for team collaboration, strategic planning, and fostering deeper connections across the organization. Travel arrangements will be supported to ensure a seamless experience.
You Have:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Required Certifications
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
Preferred Certifications
Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) - Must get within 90 days of employment
Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals (AI-900) - Must get within 90 days of employment
Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700)
Other relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Advanced Networking, Juniper, Palo Alto, CISSP, CISM)
Experience
At least 7 years of progressive experience in network engineering,
At least 2 years in a leadership or team lead role.
Extensive experience designing and implementing enterprise network architectures.
Proven track record leading large-scale network projects and migrations.
Experience managing teams and developing talent.
Strong background in cloud networking (Azure, AWS) and hybrid environments.
Advanced troubleshooting skills across complex network environments.
Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, vRealize Operations).
Knowledge & Skills
Deep expertise in networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, etc.).
Strong proficiency in firewall configuration, VPN technologies, and network security.
Familiarity with ITIL practices for incident, problem, and change management.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong technical writing and documentation abilities.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the organization.

What We Offer:
Softheon offers every full-time employee a comprehensive compensation and benefits package including:
For this position, we offer a base pay of $87,400 - $124,600/yr plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation, and benefits. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies.
