Job description
SwingDev—a hippo company is the Polish branch of a fast-growing InsurTech product company – Hippo Insurance. We’re here to make home insurance smarter and more proactive, using tech to bring fresh solutions. We also create digital products that support our customers, always focusing on what really makes an impact.
Putting a lot of effort into hiring top-tier devs, designers, PMs, and QAs, is a proof that we care a lot about tech experience, the attitude, human approach, and what we could call „culture fit”.
„SwingDev is all about people” - yes, it may sound a bit cliche. But whether we’re writing code or just hanging out, we know that people are at the heart of everything we do. We like to have a good time and keep things light, even when we’re tackling big projects. We could brag about what’s making us special, but we’ve boiled it down to two key ingredients: mature, companionable people who, rather than compete, prefer to inspire and have each other’s backs; a culture of trust, empathy, and positivity that keeps us together, lets us interact as teammates and friends, and truly enjoy the ride.
So if you’re a Product Manager looking to shake things up and have a good time while you’re at it, you’ve come to the right place. 🚀
About the role:
We’re looking for a Product Manager to join one of our charters, focused on driving Premium Growth through new business, renewals, and discount verification. You’ll shape the product strategy and roadmap, making it easier for customers to bind, purchase, and activate insurance. While our Design team supports research, this role involves both discovery and delivery — working closely with internal teams and external partners to build the best solutions. If you’re comfortable with data, thrive in complex industries like insurance, and bring a positive, problem-solving mindset, this could be a great fit!
What will you do?
- You’ll develop the product strategy and roadmap for our Premium Growth charter, making it easier for customers to bind, purchase, and activate insurance.
- You’ll be the go-to person for your charter, clearly communicating the strategy and vision to stakeholders.
- You’ll be part of a high-performing, collaborative product team, fostering a culture of impact, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- You’ll work closely with engineering, design, data, marketing, sales, insurance, and operations to bring ideas to life and drive adoption.
- You’ll make sure features are delivered on time, meet stakeholder needs, and create real business value.
- You’ll dive deep into user research and data analysis to understand customer needs and turn insights into impactful features.
- You’ll stay ahead of industry trends and identify opportunities to innovate and improve our product offerings.
- You’ll set goals and KPIs to measure success and keep the team aligned with business objectives.
We might be a match if you…
- Have at least 4 years of product management experience, including complete ownership of a backlog and end-to-end software development lifecycle with a team of at least four engineers.
- Can think strategically, balancing long-term vision with short-term execution priorities.
- Know how to build trust and strong relationships with stakeholders and drive cross-team initiatives.
- Feel comfortable with ambiguity and navigating undefined problem spaces.
- Are able to frame and define the problem, bring clear context to the engineering team, and take full ownership of the outcome.
- Have strong leadership and communication skills, and can influence and motivate people at all levels — from execs to ICs.
- Understand business, technology, and customer needs, and can turn them into innovative product solutions.
- Are curious, self-motivated, and love solving problems — you’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves, test ideas, measure results, and iterate.
- Make decisions based on data and know how to analyze trends, spot opportunities, and improve products.
- Have a great command of English (both written & spoken).
- Are available in the afternoons - due to collaboration with the United States, evening meetings may occur. Rest assured, we prioritize work-life fit, respect everyone’s private lives, and don’t work at night but we still must ensure that communication between the time zones is effective.
You will get extra points for:
- Hands-on experience with data analytics tools like SQL, BI dashboards, and Excel.
- Startup experience.
- Experience working in the Insurance industry.
Recruitment process:
- Send us your CV – it’s the best way for us to get to know you.
- Meet Gabi, one of our Recruiters.
- Join for an interview with your Team – Sr. Product Manager (Pawel) and Sr. Engineering Manager (Piyank).
- Prepare and present the recruitment task during the meeting with Director of Product and Director of Engineering.
- Meet on the final stage with Marcin and Alicja.
- and… welcome aboard! 👋
