The Quality Operations Management System Lead will report directly to the Head of Business Process Improvement Optimization (BPIO) and SSQ and leverage their experience and creative problem solving in direct support of continuous improvement of the customer experience. The Business Process Improvement Optimization (BPIO) and Standards, Systems and Quality (SSQ) teams are responsible for driving change in processes for improving and transforming the Business.
Role Description
The Quality Operations Management System Lead is responsible for developing and implementing a Quality Management System (QMS) for all aspects of the Internet service business. This includes developing and implementing quality control plans, quality control procedures, quality assurance processes, and quality improvement initiatives.
You’ll use your ISP industry knowledge of FTTH (Fiber to the Home) and best practices to analyze, evaluate and make operational process and quality improvement recommendations for all aspects of GFiber business alignment, tools and processes. You understand the technology and deployment lifecycle phases and actively synthesize complex content into concrete, simple process inputs and outputs for defensible change management concepts.
You will develop, communicate and refine strategic plans in a cross-functional, nationally segmented environment, gain consensus, and roll-out quality improvements ranging from simple projects of quality control checklist to full end-to-end program deployments for a National Quality Program.
You will deploy a full National Quality Program that aligns with ISO 9001 industry standard, but is customized to fit into GFiber’s existing infrastructure. You will be responsible for all aspects of
development; consensus and refinement; documentation and delivery; change management;
project management; and communication planning. You will identify and fill process gaps and merge functional process discrepancies in order to develop a unified National Quality Program.
Most of your work will be self-directed, but some writing will be required to support cross-functional business needs. You’ll be consulted as a SME for documentation best practices, practical editing, document management, and will support documentation change management.
In this role, you’ll:
Deployment Strategy: Develop and execute effective deployment strategies for telecom projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives and customer requirements.
Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee robust quality assurance processes to guarantee the delivery of reliable and high-performance telecom solutions.
Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and enhance deployment processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains and quality improvement.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and support staff, to ensure seamless deployment and resolve any issues promptly. Collaborate with external vendors to ensure their adherence to quality standards and specifications.
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of deployment processes, procedures, and best practices to facilitate knowledge transfer and continuous improvement. Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and efficiency of deployment processes.
At a minimum we’d like you to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years in the Telecommunications / Internet Service Provider (ISP) industry, focused on Fiber Optic Networks, technical deployment
- 2 years of operations experience including constructing or developing infrastructure that requires adherence to technical specification.
- 5 years of project management experience managing projects with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience developing and documenting end-to-end project/product lifecycle (process developments, implementation and improvement).
It’s preferred if you have:
- Knowledge and experience in implementing a Quality Management System for navigating complexity clearly and decisively with multiple regional stakeholders.
- Quality Control experience (e.g. ISO 9000, etc…) for managing large scale projects and initiatives from start to finish with proven success.
- Knowledge of inside and outside plant fiber optic network infrastructure, and engineering design and construction.
- Experience in operational improvement, process/workflow development, and managing complex cross-functional projects.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $136,000 - $198,000 + bonus + cash award + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
