Position Summary:

The Regional Director – Regional Business Specialist provides strategic leadership and operational direction for a team of Regional Business Specialists (RBS) focused on business development in the following account types: Criminal Justice, Federal Healthcare Systems, Indian / Tribal Health across multiple states. The RBS Regional Director will establish high work standards that are patient centric, customer focused, and in line with Braeburn values to meet or exceed goals. This role ensures the effective execution of business strategies, through business planning, business / account development, customer engagement, people development, working collaboratively across internal departments, and problem solving.

Striving for continuous improvement, the Regional Director, RBS is responsible for talent management, performance coaching, strategic account oversight, and collaboration across internal and external stakeholders. The individual must possess strong business acumen, scientific knowledge, leadership skills, organization and planning skills, and the ability to navigate complex correctional and federal healthcare systems while maintaining Braeburn’s commitment to compliance and internal and external policies.

Specific Duties:

  • Train, motivate, and coach Regional Business Specialists in all aspects of job performance within a specific regional geography using Braeburn approved resources.
  • Execute field strategies and marketing plans effectively to meet or exceed regional and national business objectives.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of national sales strategy and related tactics for criminal justice and federal markets.
  • Assist with development and delivery of field infrastructure and field training in support of meeting and exceeding sales goals.
  • Develop and deliver business plans through periodic business reviews with colleagues and corporate leadership team members.
  • Develop a deep understanding of assigned region, including funding streams, public policy initiatives, and key payers impacting business development.
  • Identify and address region/territory specific opportunities and barriers to ensure company success.
  • Review, analyze and interpret field reports to address business opportunities and challenges to ensure quarterly and annual objectives are met.
  • Foster compliant innovation in field approaches / practices and ensure effective cross-functional leadership and collaboration with all Braeburn partners, including market access, medical affairs, government affairs, sales operations, and training.
  • Develop and implement an effective regional communication plan.
  • Plan and execute regional sales meetings.
  • Exercise sound judgment and ensure integrity and compliance with company policies in all activities and communications.
  • Manage all regional level expenses and budgets.
  • Work on and/or lead special project teams as identified including specific field ad boards.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead recruitment, coaching, development, and retention of top talent for Braeburn
  • Be accountable for talent life cycle including people development, performance management, compensation reviews, and employee engagement
  • Drive accountability for achieving access, contractual, and outcome goals across accounts.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance on strategic account planning and customer engagement.

Strategic & Operational Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of business development strategies and marketing plans across key accounts (Federal Prisons, State Departments of Corrections, Veterans Affairs, DOD, City/County Jails, Indian Health/Tribal Health).
  • Review and analyze performance metrics (KPIs), market data, and business plans to ensure regional objectives are met.
  • Ensure compliant execution of customer engagement and clinical education by the RBS team.
  • Identify regional opportunities, barriers, and emerging trends to inform corporate strategy.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Market Access, Medical Affairs, Government Affairs, and other internal stakeholders to ensure pull-through of Braeburn initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver regional business reviews and communicate progress to senior leadership.

Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy

  • Foster strong relationships with executive decision-makers, corrections staff, medical directors, and key influencers within the criminal justice and public healthcare systems.
  • Support the development of systems of care and initiatives utilizing injectable MOUD (Medication for Opioid Use Disorder).
  • Represent Braeburn at regional and national conferences and professional meetings.
  • In conjunction with Government Affairs, influence strategic approach, project management, and decision making.

Compliance & Financial Management

  • Ensure adherence to Braeburn’s Code of Conduct, policies, and compliance standards in all activities.
  • Manage regional budget and allocate resources efficiently.
  • Uphold ethical standards and exercise sound judgment in business practices.

  • Business Acumen – Strong understanding of specialty pharmaceuticals, correctional healthcare, federal systems of care, Indian/Tribal Health, and funding streams.

  • Adaptability & Innovation – Ability to navigate a complex, fast-changing healthcare landscape.
  • Communication – Strong interpersonal, written, and oral presentation skills.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) required; advanced business degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of pharmaceutical experience with at least 7+ years in sales and/or field market access in biotech/specialty pharmaceutical/device industries.
  • Minimum 5+ years of management experience leading field-based teams.
  • Documented success in strategic account development and business performance in specialty pharmacy markets.
  • Experience in corrections/criminal justice systems, integrated health systems, or large account management required.
  • Knowledge of specialty distribution models, including Specialty Pharmacy and Buy & Bill acquisition.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain executive-level customer relationships.
  • Willingness to travel regionally and nationally (up to 60%).
