Your new role
Our engineering department is divided into cross-functional, verticalized development teams, who are focused on delivering continuous improvements, features and developing new products. With strong collaboration from our Support, QA and SRE Teams you will be ensuring the delivery process and the stability of our products.
With the backing from our Product and People Team, our Director/Architect and VP of Engineering we are constantly looking to overcome new challenges, to innovate, and to ensure the success of our products and satisfaction of our customers.
Engineering Manager
Job location: on-site in Düsseldorf or remote in Germany
Your challenge:
- Managing, mentoring and coaching a team of software engineers
- Provide resources to improve the engineers’ skills
- Goal setting and quarterly assessment of team members
- Training the team according to best practices, to ensure a high-quality product
- Work to remove obstacles blocking the engineers from achieving their objectives
- Setting up organization structures and processes for fast flow and scalability
- Facilitating the communication between engineering disciplines
- Together with the Product Owner and Tech Lead, define and drive initiatives for long term improvements within the team
- Human Resource Management related tasks, such as recruitment, remuneration, career planning, long-term vacation planning
About you
- Previous experience leading and managing engineering teams
- Clear communication and conflict resolution skills
- Results oriented with a pragmatic mindset
- You thrive in dynamic environments and can effectively manage shifting priorities
- Able to communicate technical and non-technical directions
- Empathetic personality who believes in giving and receiving open feedback
- You know how to build a supportive and trusting environment within the team
- You are personable and enjoy interacting with people
