Mission Focus: NT Concepts is seeking a Technical Lead / Solution Architect to support the DoD enterprise Military Housing system. This complex system of 28 web-based modules is used by over 10,000 active users to meet the housing needs of 2.5+ million service members, DoD civilians, and their families.

Clearance: Minimum active Secret clearance required with TS/SCI preferred.

Location/Flexibility: Vienna, VA and Reston, VA with remote flexibility based on program needs.

Responsibilities:

The role will act as Technical Lead on projects, providing technical guidance and oversight to the project execution team in collaboration with our Program Manager. The position will also ensure alignment between project activities and accepted scope, negotiate with the customers, vendors, and other partners on changes to scope. This role will own full end-to-end delivery of software products and will also be responsible for leading team members of varying professional levels.

Responsibilities include:

  • Drive/Lead key technical and architectural decisions for the systems, provide and influence key designing decisions for the technology, infrastructure and configuration of the systems for scalability and capacity
  • Lead a team of employees and contractors to maintain and enhance applications with legacy technologies
  • Provide direction to keep team on track to complete projects and ensure project goals are met by assigning tasks to team members and timely follow ups
  • Meet development schedules by ensuring the delivered solutions meet the technical specifications and design requirements

Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent
  • Clearance: Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI
  • 8+ Years of experience in IT industry with at least 4 years in Technical Lead position
  • Experience with Java development background and having worked on design, optimizations and performance tuning.
  • Excellent understanding of typical multi-tier architectures: web servers, caching, application servers, and load balancers
  • Hands-on experience on multiple technologies such as Java/J2EE & middleware (WebLogic, Apache, Spring Boot, etc.) technologies in UNIX environment and Scripting languages such as UNIX Shell
  • Build automation / CICD pipeline integration tools (Jenkins, GIT, Bitbucket, Artifactory, etc.)
  • Relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Sybase, DB2) – Oracle is primary
  • Information and application security including LDAP, certificates, public key encryption, SSH, access credentials, etc.
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Working knowledge of legacy web frameworks such as GWT and MVC

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 10-15 pounds at times.
