What You’ll Do
The Sr. Accountant, Clinical role is an integral part of a growing accounting team and plays a critical role in the R&D related accounting close process, primarily focused on clinical accounting. This position will play a key role in the monthly close process for a large and complex portfolio of clinical studies, often under tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will bring solid analytical skills and deep Excel expertise, including using advanced formulas and pivot tables for the day-to-day activities. This role will work cross-functionally with Clinical Operations, Outsourcing, and FP&A to ensure clinical accruals accurately reflect study progress. Also, the Sr. Accountant, Clinical role will support internal and external audits and contribute to ongoing business process transformation and process improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the monthly financial close process related to clinical trial activities, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
- Analyze clinical trial expenses, review CRO invoices and contracts to ensure proper accounting treatment
- Partner with Clinical Operations and CRO to validate accrual assumptions and resolve any identified discrepancies
- Maintain and update a detailed clinical tracker in Excel using advanced formulas and pivot tables to support clinical studies’ month-end activities
- Utilize Condor to support the preparation and review of monthly clinical study journal entries
- Contribute to business process improvements and system implementation efforts, aiming at optimizing and streamlining clinical accounting workflows
- Participate and support in ad-hoc projects and financial analysis as required
Where You’ll Work
This is a U.S.-based remote role that will require quarterly, or as needed, visits to our San Francisco Office.
Who You Are
- 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably with the Biotech/Pharma Industry and/or Big Four firms with increasing levels of responsibility
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Proficiency with financial systems and software, including SAP, Coupa, and other related systems
- Fluency in Microsoft Excel (advanced Excel skills such as pivot tables, LOOKUP formula, INDEX/MATCH, nested formulas), Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
- Strong attention to analytical skills with a problem-solving mindset
- Highly organized, self-motivated, results-oriented, with superior attention to detail, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams

Below is the anticipated salary range for candidates for this role who will work in California. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience within the industry, educational background, location of residence and performance during the interview process. BridgeBio is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions based in other states.
