PeopleCert is seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Senior Advisor & Subject Matter Expert (SME) for their DEVOPS INSTITUTE portfolio to help shape the future of DevOps learning and certification. Β This role, reporting to the Product Portfolio Director, will serve as a trusted advisor across product, marketing, sales, and partner channels. You will be an authoritative figure on the DEVOPS INSTITUTE portfolio and guide the evolution of our certification offerings, contribute to the creation of globally relevant training and enablement content, and actively support business growth through market engagement and sales support.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of DevOps, Agile, and Lean principles, practices, and methods, along with exceptional communication skills, and a passion for thought leadership.

As Senior Advisor & Subject Matter Expert - DEVOPS INSTITUTE Portfolio your tasks will be the following:

Subject Matter Expertise & Advisory

  • Act as a senior advisor and SME for DEVOPS INSTITUTE certifications and content

  • Provide strategic insight into market trends and emerging practices to guide and contribute to product updates and new learning content development.

  • Review and provide input on assessment design, exam blueprinting, and certification alignment.

Framework & Product Development

  • Collaborate with Product Management and Content Development to enhance and develop learning content, certification offerings, and practical guidance aligned with widely adopted DevOps practices and emerging trends.
  • Translate real-world DevOps challenges into accessible, structured solutions embedded in training, certifications, and best practices.
  • Participate in end-to-end development of training and enablement materials.

Sales & Marketing Support

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Sales team by supporting high-priority partner engagements, proposals, and customer conversations.
  • Participate in sales enablement activities and provide SME-level credibility during enterprise-level discussions and partner onboarding.
  • Contribute to thought leadership content including blogs, articles, podcasts, and videos for external audiences.

Speaking Engagements & Community Representation

  • Represent DEVOPS INSTITUTE at conferences, webinars, community events, and industry panels as a speaker and panelist.
  • Deliver presentations and live workshops to amplify our message and engage the DevOps community, trainers, and partners.
  • Build relationships with key influencers, ambassadors, and community contributors to extend the reach and relevance of the portfolio.

Training & Knowledge Transfer

  • Support the creation and delivery of instructor training, trainer enablement sessions, and internal knowledge-sharing workshops.
  • Mentor internal teams and partner trainers to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery of DEVOPS INSTITUTE training content.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Stay ahead of competitive landscape and emerging trends to keep DEVOPS INSTITUTE leading the market and drive innovation in our offerings.
  • Incorporate modern approaches such as agile ways of working, hybrid delivery models, and AI-related guidance.
  • Integrate insights from the field into ongoing certification updates, learning paths, and enablement strategies.

What we look for:

  • Deep expertise and extensive practical experience in DevOps practices, tools, frameworks, and culture.
  • Certifications such as DevOps Foundation, SRE Foundation, DevSecOps, or comparable qualifications would be an asset.
  • Familiarity with complementary frameworks and approaches (e.g. Agile, Lean, ITIL, Scrum, Value Stream Management, etc.).
  • Experience advising or training enterprise teams or clients in digital transformation or DevOps adoption.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and storytelling skills – including public speaking and content writing.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including Product, Marketing, Sales, and Partner Channels.
  • Ability to distill complex ideas into practical guidance and learning content.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration skills enabling you to effectively communicate, influence, and collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities, and effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Working on Home Office (HO) Secure English Language Tests (SELTs)

Any person who is engaged by PeopleCert to work on the SELT service must undergo a Background Check (the results of which must be acceptable to PeopleCert and the HO) prior to commencing their SELT duties. All SELT personnel will be required to complete a declaration (provided by PeopleCert) where the existence of any criminal record and/or bankruptcy must be declared.

If working on the SELT service in the UK, background checks will include:

  • A basic or enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check

  • Right to Work in the UK check (including nationality, identity and place of residence)

  • HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter Terrorist Check (CTC)

  • Financial background check

  • Employment reference check.

  • If working on the SELT service anywhere in the world (outside of the UK) personnel will undergo background checks that are equivalent to those stated for the UK.

In addition, if personnel are required to speak to SELT candidates they must be appropriately skilled in English language and, where SELT services are provided anywhere in the world (outside of the UK), the official language of the relevant country.
