The Role

As Senior Director of Engineering for Activation at Amperity, you will lead the teams responsible for how marketers connect with their customers through our platform. You will shape both the technical execution and the broader strategy for delivering intuitive, customer experiences. Your scope spans multiple teams across geographies and time zones, and you will ensure they operate as a cohesive organization.

You bring a combination of technical depth and organizational leadership, with the ability to engage across the technical stack from high-performance query systems to connector technologies, all while also guiding end-to-end-user experiences that aim to be delightful. You’ll set the vision and execution path for how we evolve our Activation capabilities, driving debate, and accountability at every level. Just as important, you’ll be invested in building great teams and future leaders — mentoring across the company and promoting a culture of empowerment, inclusion, and continuous improvement. You will report to the SVP, Engineering.

  • At Amperity, we solve some of the most challenging and impactful technical problems in customer data management. As a Senior Director, you’ll lead teams working on:
  • Empower users with complex, real-time querying capabilities, helping them obtain meaningful insights.
  • Build deep integrations with industry-leading platforms like Databricks, Snowflake, and several paid-media connectors, ensuring our solutions fit into the broader data ecosystem.
  • Deliver enriched data assets and insights to diverse systems, allowing our clients to unlock new value from their data.
  • Create intuitive, powerful user experiences that help our customers produce insights, and measure results.
  • Build and nurture teams that support each other across a distributed working environment, embodying our values of trust, innovation, curiosity, and accountability.

About You

  • 15+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years leading managers of managers.
  • Experience leading multiple teams across geographies and time zones, aligning them to a shared vision and measurable goals.
  • Experience mentoring managers and individual contributors, and for building diverse, inclusive, and psychologically safe teams.
  • Guide organizational learning and continuous improvement through mentoring, feedback, and metrics.
  • Experienced in overseeing and delivering complex projects and making decisions that shape our long-term success.
  • Focus on operational excellence, with the ability to establish and champion group-wide metrics and processes that improves organizational health.
  • Technical credibility across domains such as query systems and connectors — with the ability to contribute to strategy while empowering your teams to manage execution.
  • Experience recruiting and retaining top talent, and at leading organizations through evolving priorities and complex dependencies.

Our hybrid work model includes three days in the office each week, providing a mix of in-person collaboration and remote flexibility

Compensation

Base Salary:  $200,000-$280,000. Within our pay range, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications such as skills, experience, and education/training.

Cash Incentives: Cash incentives are also available.

Stock Options: The opportunity for ownership is an exciting part of Amperity’s total compensation package. Every employee at Amperity receives a new-hire equity grant, commensurate with the scope of their position.
