Team Description

Reddit has a strong following of users who come to reddit to find content and have deep discussions they are interested in. Reddit offers unique and high engagement conversations, we’re the home of conversation on the internet. Our communities achieve fun, exciting, quirky things when they band together. Over the last few years we have been growing multiple ads types and now are a sizable ads player. The ad formats team has multiple ad formats that it supports and new ones it innovates on continuously.

  • Vision: Increase brand outcomes (i.e. guaranteed reach/share of voice, engaged reach, awareness) through a regular cadence of innovation. Drive market relevance and capture brand budgets.
  • Our team innovates on ad formats that are designed for advertisers whose goal is to increase awareness of their brand. One example of what the team is working on include a revamped version of Takeovers, which allows marketers to get guaranteed inventory on a broad portion of Reddit (eg. for a major movie release).  Another example is Reminder Ads, which will allow a user to opt-in to be alerted at a particular time relevant to the ad campaign (eg. when a movie is released).  These kind of offerings have been very successful at Reddit, and the team is looking to build on that success.
  • 10 team members that include back-end, web, iOS and Android specialists, a L5, 4 L4s and 5 L3s (including the open role)
    • GEO locations of team members: Fairly even split between ET (including PM, and some work in-office in NYC) and PT (including EM).

Role Description

The Brand Ad Formats team is seeking a skilled Frontend engineer with a product-focused mindset to join the Brand Ad Formats team.

Responsibilities:

  • Build Ad experiences and create patterns for Reddit’s Android app that enhance our ads’ performance and functionality.
  • Collaborate across product, design, and engineering teams to innovate and implement sophisticated solutions for complex challenges.
  • Engage in the full development cycle: design, develop, QA, experiment, analyze, and deploy.

Required Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Frontend engineering with at least 4 years of experience
  • Proficient in both Typescript and Javascript
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals
  • A willingness to tackle the challenges of creating data-intensive, highly responsive, and fault-tolerant apps within the constraints of a smartphone environment
  • An openness to explore innovative approaches to software development
  • Skilled at performing insightful code reviews, and receiving feedback themself

Bonus points:

  • Experience working on ad tech

  • Experience working on premier consumer facing sites (high production value at scale)

In addition to base salary, this job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission. The base pay range for this position is:

$190,800—$267,100 USD
