Clean Power Alliance (CPA) is Southern California’s locally operated not-for-profit default electricity provider for 38 communities within Los Angeles and Ventura counties and the 4th largest electricity provider in the State of California. We provide clean renewable energy at competitive rates to over three million residents and businesses through approximately one million customer accounts.
What You’ll Do
CPA is seeking a Senior Graphic and Website Designer with deep experience and expertise in graphic design, illustration and web design. The ideal candidate is a visual storyteller who can translate ideas into compelling visuals across print, digital, video, and social media. We are seeking a highly skilled, practiced and creative designer with advanced proficiency in layout, typography and brand development for communications and marketing campaigns and collateral with the ability to create custom visuals, icons and infographics that enhance storytelling and elevate content. A sharp eye for details and cultural relevance, a commitment to brand consistency and producing high-impact design that drives engagement is essential. The Senior Graphic and Website Designer should be able to successfully manage a high volume of projects and tasks, take written or spoken ideas and convert them into designs with impact, and provide thought leadership on best practices in design.
Who You’ll Work With
The Senior Graphic and Website Designer reports to the Director, Communications and Marketing. You will work closely with others within the Communications and Marketing team, and also collaborate with multiple teams including but not limited to Government Affairs and Customer Programs as well as external stakeholders and vendors.

Mastery of various applications, including, but not limited to Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Lightroom, Adobe Pro, XD, Figma, and Microsoft Office Suite
Duties and Responsibilities
Creative Development and Asset Management: Responsible for creating, managing, and enhancing design and production of assets for print, web, video, social media, presentations, events and campaigns. Responsible for the creation and enhancements of original illustrations, infographics, and visual concepts tailored to diverse audiences. Manage processes to create and enhance visually engaging web content (using WordPress and related tools), including collaborating, brainstorming, and strategizing with multiple teams and individuals for a wide range of materials that may include but are not limited to printed materials and collateral, webpages, presentations, event signage, internal communications, newsletters, and marketing materials.
Project Management: Manage various communications and marketing projects to visualize and develop innovative graphic designs that meet business goals, including gathering and incorporating input from program and project managers to ensure designs meet organizational standards and brand expectations, express ideas accurately, and represent the objectives. Responsible for developing comprehensive project plans, including defining and documenting objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource allocation. Responsible for developing, documenting, and implementing initial and contingency plans to identify and communicate potential risks or issues that may impact project success. Responsible for defining and meeting key project milestones and deadlines. Manage project team members to ensure alignment with CPA’s goals, processes, and annual fiscal planning. Responsible for fostering cross-functional collaboration and accountability on assigned tasks and projects being managed.
Content Management: Manage and perform activities related to the ongoing development, enhancement, storage, and retention of content, including day-to-day operational tasks including but not limited to posting content and making updates to the organizations website(s), photography and videography editing including capturing and editing digital assets for use in digital, print formats, and various platforms. Responsible for the preparation, storage, and delivery of production-ready files for both digital and print formats, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with specifications. Manage the design and uploading process of all project material, understanding best practices for using a content management system. Manage and maintain an organized digital asset library, including photos, video, templates, and design files. Provide creative direction and thought leadership on design trends and platform best practices, ensuring work products align with CPA established brand guidelines. Serve as subject matter expert and provide training and guidance to new team members and agency partners to ensure consistent, effective use of content.
Continuous Improvement: Create, enhance, document, and manage continuous improvement initiatives across all graphic and web design processes. Responsible for identifying inefficiencies, proposing solutions to senior leadership, and leading the implementation of new tools, automation, and reporting frameworks that enable the team to scale and improve graphic and web design performance and functionality. Serve as graphics and web design subject matter expert, advising and supporting junior staff offering day-to-day guidance and training.
Strategic Analysis: Responsible for performing strategic analysis to identify trends and anomalies that impact CPA’s brand, operations, and strategy and communicating results and relevant information to senior leadership. Responsible for analyzing the performance of creative assets using innovative techniques and methodologies to derive actionable insights and deliver strategic recommendations to senior leadership. Enhance graphic and website design capabilities by modeling best practices and collaborative problem solving.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, art, or similar discipline
- Minimum of 5 years proven experience with graphic design, with a strong portfolio of work required
- Expert level proficiency in photography and video editing, including capturing and editing digital assets for multiple platforms required.
- Experience in web design, including user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) best practices, and mobile-responsive design required
- Experience working with government agencies a plus
Work Location
This position is eligible for either Hybrid or Remote options. The Hybrid option requires attendance in our Downtown Los Angeles office on a full-time basis 2- 3 days per week on days determined by CPA, with work location on the remaining days either in office or remote. This includes a transportation allowance. The Remote option requires you to be available to attend full-time in office days and/or field events within Los Angeles and Ventura Counties in accordance with the needs of the company that may start as early as 8:30am at least 2 days per week. The Remote & Hybrid options require full-time in-person attendance at organization or team-wide events 3 times per year for 3-5 days per event. All staff are required to work during CPA’s office hours Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm PST.
The salary range for this position is $115,838-$173,757 with exact compensation to be determined by Clean Power Alliance, dependent on experience. Benefits include health care, a 401(k)-like match program, paid vacation, and sick leave. This is not a civil service position; however, all CPA employees are required to submit a Statement of Economic Interests form, also known as the Form 700.
