Clean Power Alliance (CPA) is Southern California’s locally operated not-for-profit default electricity provider for 38 communities within Los Angeles and Ventura counties and the 4th largest electricity provider in the State of California. We provide clean renewable energy at competitive rates to over three million residents and businesses through approximately one million customer accounts.
What You’ll Do
CPA is seeking a Senior Analyst, Research and Marketing to join our Communications and Marketing team. The Senior Analyst, Research and Marketing is responsible for developing, enhancing, maintaining, and analyzing performance dashboards (e.g., Tableau), monitoring digital metrics (e.g., Google Analytics), and supporting continuous optimization through data-driven insights key in making CPA’s marketing efforts data-driven, customer-informed, and continually optimized for greater impact. Additionally, the Senior Analyst, Research and Marketing is responsible for identifying and implementing process improvements, analyzing large datasets to inform strategy, providing guidance to other team members, and collaborating across teams, reporting insights to senior leadership.

The Senior Analyst, Research and Marketing reports to the Senior Manager, Marketing and Digital Strategy and will work closely with internal teams including but not limited to Customer Programs, Data and Systems, and Rates and Strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities
Marketing Research: Manage the marketing research processes, serving as the subject matter expert (SME) and lead for marketing research activities including monitoring and analyzing key marketing performance indicators across digital channels such as CPA’s social media, website, and paid media campaigns. Responsible for designing, enhancing, implementing, documenting, and managing surveys, brand tracking studies, customer satisfaction research, and segmentation efforts. .
Campaign Analysis: Manage marketing and research campaign processes to benchmark campaign results against past performance and industry standards to evaluate effectiveness, uncover gaps, and support data-driven decisions that enhance targeting, messaging, and creative strategy. Responsible for performing strategic analysis to identify trends and anomalies that impact marketing campaigns and communicating results and relevant information to senior leadership. Extract and analyze customer and campaign data from applications including but not limited to Salesforce to support performance reporting and campaign optimization and utilize insights to inform creative and media briefs.
Data Analytics: Responsible for analyzing quantitative data, qualitative summaries, and open-ended feedback to uncover actionable insights. Responsible for synthesizing data from multiple sources to create personas and segmentation models that support targeted, effective campaigns. Utilizing data to identify customer needs, behaviors, and preferences to inform messaging, creative direction, and channel strategy, and translate findings into actionable recommendations that drive stakeholder alignment and contribute to campaign success. Responsible for creating, enhancing, documenting, and managing reporting efforts including but not limited to engagement, traffic, and conversion metrics to identify trends and inform actionable optimizations
Cross-Departmental and Vendor Collaboration: Work with internal teams including but not limited to Data and Systems, Customer Care, and Government Affairs to understand data environments and build out processes required to support reporting. Collaborate with internal staff and vendors to ensure consistency and accuracy of data reporting to support these efforts, serving as the primary point of contact for external research vendors.
Project Management: Provide ownership and accountability for marketing and research processes by managing project timelines, deliverables, and budgets. Responsible for developing comprehensive project plans, including defining and documenting objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource allocation. Responsible for developing, documenting, and implementing initial and contingency plans to identify and communicate potential risks or issues that may impact project success. Responsible for defining and meeting key project milestones and deadlines. Manage project team members to ensure alignment with CPA’s goals, processes, and annual fiscal planning. Coaches and delegates to cross-functional team members involved in project execution.
Finance and Audit Support: Responsible for supporting Finance with budget, accounting, reporting, and issue resolution as needed. Responsible for supporting audit efforts marketing related items, collecting and providing necessary data to auditors, ensuring accurate and timely responses to audit requests.
Strategic Analysis: Responsible for performing strategic analysis to identify trends and anomalies that impact operations and strategy and communicating results and relevant information to senior leadership. Responsible for analyzing large datasets using innovative models and methodologies to derive actionable insights and deliver strategic recommendations to senior leadership. Build analytical and operational capabilities by modeling best practices and collaborative problem solving.
Continuous Improvement: Create, enhance, document, and manage continuous improvement initiatives across all marketing research processes. Responsible for identifying inefficiencies, proposing solutions to senior leadership, and leading the implementation of new tools, automation, and reporting frameworks that enable the team to scale and improve marketing research efforts. Serve as marketing research subject matter expert, advising and supporting junior staff offering day-to-day guidance and training.

Qualifications
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Economics, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing analytics, customer research, or performance reporting roles required.
Work Location
This position is eligible for either Hybrid or Remote options. The Hybrid option requires attendance in our Downtown Los Angeles office on a full-time basis 2- 3 days per week on days determined by CPA, with work location on the remaining days either in office or remote. This includes a transportation allowance. The Remote option requires you to be available to attend full-time in office days and/or field events within Los Angeles and Ventura Counties in accordance with the needs of the company that may start as early as 8:30am at least 2 days per week. The Remote & Hybrid options require full-time in-person attendance at organization or team-wide events 3 times per year for 3-5 days per event. All staff are required to work during CPA’s office hours Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm PST.
The salary range for this position is $115,838-$173,757, with exact compensation to be determined by Clean Power Alliance, dependent on experience. Benefits include health care, a 401(k)-like match program, paid vacation, and sick leave. This is not a civil service position; however, all CPA employees are required to submit a Statement of Economic Interests form, also known as the Form 700.
