About the Runtime Platform Pillar
The Runtime Platform Pillar owns the operating environments, underlying services, infrastructure, observability systems, and gateways that power or provide access to workloads and services at Wealthsimple.
About the Infrastructure Team
The infrastructure team is part of the Runtime Platform pillar, and focuses on providing efficient, scalable, and reliable infrastructure at Wealthsimple. The Infrastructure team is responsible for Kubernetes platforms, Cloud governance and Architecture, Networking Services, including Istio Service Mesh, and an ecosystem of tools that support all of these areas (and more!).
As a Senior Infrastructure Developer, you will:
- Lead key Infrastructure projects which include planning, scoping, and regularly communicating progress to stakeholders to ensure quality and timelines
- Develop and continuously improve code and infrastructure, delivering highly performant, efficient, and reliable platforms that support your clients, our developers
- Work closely with our product and platform engineering partners to deliver simple scalable infrastructure solutions that meet the current and future needs of the business.
- Improve the reliability and efficiency of how we deliver infrastructure capabilities by keeping on top of industry trends, implementing new tools and best practices while focusing on testing and automation.
- Participate in our hiring process and shape the growth of the Engineering team
- Join our on-call rotation to support and maintain our critical systems, demonstrating your growing expertise and commitment to our platform’s reliability.
What you bring:
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or Go. Maybe you’ve already used these languages to build against Kubernetes and Cloud APIs or are excited to learn!
- Experience or interest in leveraging LLMs and AI tools to boost productivity and efficiency
- Infrastructure as Code skills in Terraform, Cloudformation or similar.
- Strong experience working with cloud environments, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Docker, Github Actions, Datadog, and Cloud Networking (to name a few). Solid grasp of the security fundamentals associated with each of these technologies.
- A collaborative and open approach to communication: you are experienced in delivering clear, concise, and solution-focused messages that are easily understood by a cross-disciplinary team
- A passion for mentorship: you love empowering other developers across various teams while learning new skills
