ROLE OVERVIEW:
As a Senior Java Engineer you will join an international team working for one of the biggest global banks. The Agile team focusing on capital markets is building an innovative platform leveraging data, analytics to drive automated decision-making, smart automation across the full lifecycle of the business. This complex, long-term project will give you an opportunity to work cross-teams and explore new technologies such as gen AI and clouds.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be the proactive, leading, constructive developer on a squad with crucial remit within the CAT platform.
- Apply your experience of Front Office technology delivery on our loans analytics platform.
- Work within the ever-evolving framework of Financial Markets specifications and regulations to ensure CAT is using best-in-class technology within the boundaries of approved technologies.
- Build services with a framework and generic pattern mindset for scale across multiple dimensions – optimized compute/performance, functional, visualization, quality control.
- Design, develop and maintain applications that are used by other development teams and directly by front office users.
- Implement safe defensive coding, intelligent design, access control, in supportable applications.
- Effectively and proactively manage resource usage.
- Do whatever it takes to maintain stability, availability and performance. Provide Production L3 support as required.
- Partner with stakeholders to capture requirements and deliver solutions – deep understanding of the problem and context along with ownership are key to be successful in this role
KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Tech stack: Java, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, hazelcast, Solace queues, REST/ KONG API
Required skills:
- 7+ years of experience in back-end software engineering with Java.
- Proficiency with database integration tools (postgres/mongo), caching (hazelcast), clickhouse, communication (solace), security (hashicorp, SSO tokens, Kong integration)
- Strong skills in developing scalable, real-time data processing solutions.
- Experience with databases and data engineering workflows.
Additionally:
- Experience with Front Office Banking IT.
- Hands-on experience with Agile delivery methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of problems, design effective solutions, and deliver them independently or within a team.
- Familiarity with the framework of Financial Markets specifications and regulations is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- An innovative mindset with the ability to challenge the status quo and deliver exceptional results.
