What You Will Do
We are looking for a strategic Insurance & Risk Manager to lead the establishment and execution of our insurance and risk management framework at Chomps. This role is crucial in ensuring the protection and resilience of a fast-growing snack brand. The Insurance & Risk Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive risk management strategies, securing appropriate insurance coverage, and fostering a risk-aware culture across the Company. Be at the forefront of establishing a new insurance & risk management function in a nationally recognized brand, shaping the future of our financial operations.
Responsibilities
Risk Management & Mitigation
- Support the Finance function in the operational execution of Chomps’ insurance and risk control strategy.
- Notify and coordinate claims - property, recall, general liability, D&O, cyber, etc.
- Review supplier contracts for insurance-related contractual provisions in partnership with Legal and Procurement.
- Lead assessments of risks, prepare cost/benefit analysis of risk mitigation actions to build interpersonal / cross-functional consensus, and lead business continuity review.
- Lead all aspects of the handling of Certificates of Insurance (COI) – received and delivered.
- Monitor and instantly notify material changes in risk profile.
- Ensure compliance with local insurance laws/regulations.
- Create awareness and provide general education on insurance requirements & risk management.
Renewal and Insurance Management
- Partner with insurance broker to evaluate market trends, align on strategy, and set timelines.
- Lead collection, analysis, validation, and submission of risk exposure data, across all lines of coverage.
- Validate and track policy issuance.
- Oversee relationships with insurance brokers and carriers.
- Procure insurance policies and maintain up-to-date overviews, optimizing comprehensive coverage and value.
Financial Support
- Create and maintain a comprehensive record of total cost of risk (TCOR)
- Work with Chomps leadership to align coverage, costs, and carriers before binding coverage.
- Process timely insurance premium payments.
Who You Are
- 5+ years of experience in corporate risk management, risk consulting, insurance company, or insurance broker. Proven track record of impact in a leadership role.
- Prior experience with a corporate insurance program (including annual policy renewals) required.
- Strong knowledge of global insurance markets, risk management practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex risk portfolios and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Demonstrated knowledge of insurance coverage lines including but not limited to directors and officers, property, casualty, professional liability, cyber, auto, recall, and employer’s liability.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to review, validate, synthesize, and visualize quantitative data including financial results, payroll, supply chain/inventory, property, workers comp. losses, travel costs, etc.
- Exceptional leadership, including demonstrated team and project management abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Compelling, efficient analysis and presentation abilities, leveraging tools and systems to understand and communicate complicated subject matter effectively.
Position: Senior Manager, Risk and Insurance

Type: Full-Time, exempt
Salary Range Opportunity:
- The salary range for this role is $120,000 - $130,000 + 20% annual bonus
Compensation Philosophy & Total Comp:
- Our salary ranges are based on verified market data and our philosophy of paying competitively for our size and industry
- Individual pay rate decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company
- In addition to base salary, full-time team members receive medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401K 6% match, and monthly reimbursements for wellness and home office.
