Job Description
As the newest member of our Engineering team, you’ll act as the critical link between Product and R&D—translating healthcare product requirements into scalable technical solutions that power our SmartCare™ EHR platform. With at least 10 years of experience in software development and deep expertise in healthcare data systems, EHR workflows, and X12 EDI standards, you bring both architectural thinking and executional precision. You’ve mastered SQL and ETL development, understand the why behind product features, and know how to document the how to move them forward. Spend your days:
- Leading the design, development and implementation of robust, scalable software solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements
- Translating product requirements into system design and architecture using SSIS and Azure Data Factory
- Analyzing and optimizing SQL performance, leveraging advanced techniques such as SQL Profiler and SQL Execution Plans to identify bottlenecks and improve query performance
- Applying your knowledge of Medicaid and Medicare regulations to system logic and design
- Diagnosing root cause issues and communicating findings clearly to internal stakeholders
- Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including data architects, business analysts, and stakeholder,s to ensure seamless database interactions
- Providing mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers, developing their technical skills and best practices
Qualifications
Show us your:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong emphasis on healthcare systems and EHR workflows pertaining to Revenue Cycle Management
- Mastery of SQL Server development, optimization and query analysis – SQL Profiler and Execution Plans
- Strong working knowledge of X12 EDI transaction sets, with a particular focus on 837P/837I (Claims), 835 (Electronic Remittance), and 276⁄277 (Claim Status). Experience with healthcare billing formats such as UB-04 and CMS-1500
- Solid understanding of HIPAA, Medicaid, and Medicare regulatory environments and payer-specific implementations – ability to troubleshoot EDI files
- Proven track record building scalable ETL pipelines using SSIS and Azure Data Factory
- Familiarity with Microsoft stack (ASP.Net, C#.Net, JQuery) and DevOps tools and practices
- Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices and methodologies, including agile development, continuous integration/deployment and software testing
