ABOUT APPLY DIGITAL

Apply Digital is a global digital transformation partner for change agents. Leveraging expertise that spans Business Transformation Strategy, Product Design & Development, Commerce, Platform Engineering, Data Intelligence, Change Management, and beyond, we enable our clients to modernize their organizations and deliver meaningful impact to the business and to their customers. Whether they are beginning, accelerating or optimizing, we help enterprise businesses implement composable tech as part of their digital transformation journey. We leverage our rich experience in building smart products and using AI tools to drive value.

Our 650+ team members have helped transform global companies like Kraft Heinz, NFL, Moderna, Lululemon, Atlassian, Sony, American Express, and Harvard Business School.

Apply Digital was founded in 2016 in Vancouver, Canada. In the past nine years, we have grown to nine cities across North America, South America, the UK, and Europe. We have always had aspirations to build a delivery hub in India, and we are excited to launch a new office in Delhi NCR.

At Apply Digital, we believe in the “One Team” approach, where we operate within a ‘pod’ structure. Each pod brings together senior leadership, subject matter experts, and cross-functional skill sets, all working within a common tech and delivery framework. This structure is underpinned by well-oiled scrum and sprint cadences, keeping teams in step to release often and retrospectives to ensure we progress toward the desired outcomes.

Wherever we work in the world, we envision Apply Digital as a safe, empowered, respectful and fun community for people, every single day. Together, we work to embody our SHAPE (smart, humble, active, positive, and excellent) values and make Apply Digital a space for our team to connect, grow, and support each other to make a difference.

LOCATION: Apply Digital is a hybrid friendly organization with remote options available if needed. The preferred candidate should be based in (or within a location commutable to) the Delhi/NCR region of India, working in hours that have an overlap with the Eastern Standard Timezone (EST).

ABOUT THE CLIENT

In your initial role, you will support Kraft Heinz, a global, multi-billion-dollar leader in consumer packaged foods and a valued client of ours for the past three years. Apply Digital has a bold and comprehensive mandate to drive Kraft Heinz’s digital transformation. Through implementable strategies, cutting-edge technology, and data-driven innovation we aim to enhance consumer engagement and maximize business value for Kraft Heinz.

Our composable architecture, modern engineering practices, and deep expertise in AI, cloud computing, and customer data solutions have enabled game-changing digital experiences. Our cross-functional team has delivered significant milestones, including the launch of the What’s Cooking App, the re-building of 120+ brand sites in over 20 languages, and most recently, the implementation of a robust Customer Data Platform (CDP) designed to drive media effectiveness. Our work has also been recognized internationally and has received multiple awards.

While your work will start with supporting Kraft Heinz, you will also have future opportunities to collaborate with the global team on other international brands.

THE ROLE:

Are you passionate about shipping digital products of uncompromised quality? Do you constantly look for ways to innovate and expand your knowledge of test automation, modern testing methodologies, and quality best practices? Do you embrace challenges head-on with perseverance and a can-do attitude while still having fun? If so, you may be ready to take on the Senior QA Automation Engineer role within our team.

As a Senior QA Automation Engineer, you will be instrumental in defining and executing our QA automation strategy, ensuring that our web applications, APIs, and digital experiences meet the highest quality standards. You will lead efforts in test automation, quality governance, and test execution, collaborating with front-end, backend, and DevOps engineers to build scalable and maintainable test automation frameworks.

This role requires deep expertise in Playwright, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern testing methodologies, as well as experience working in cloud-native environments (Google Cloud Platform - GCP preferred).

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the development and implementation of test automation frameworks using Playwright, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and efficiency.
  • Design and execute automated test scripts to validate front-end and backend services, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
  • Experience implementing and integrating CI/CD test pipelines as part of development/release processes.
  • Collaborate with front-end and backend engineers to define testability requirements, improve test coverage, and enhance quality throughout the SDLC.
  • Develop and maintain end-to-end, regression, API, and performance test suites, ensuring consistent product reliability across multiple environments.
  • Advocate for a shift-left testing approach, working closely with developers to promote best practices in unit testing, integration testing, and code quality.
  • Manage and optimize test environments to support parallel test execution, ensuring stability and performance.
  • Monitor and analyze test results, proactively communicating and updating leadership with detailed reports and recommendations for improvements in test coverage and software quality.
  • Mentor junior and intermediate QA engineers, fostering a culture of quality, automation-first mindset, and continuous learning.
  • Stay updated with emerging QA automation tools and technologies, continuously improving our testing methodologies and frameworks.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong proficiency in English (written and verbal communication) is required.
  • Experience working with remote teams across North America and Latin America, ensuring smooth collaboration across time zones.
  • 5+ years of experience in QA automation, with a strong focus on end-to-end testing and automation frameworks.
  • Expertise in Playwright, including writing and maintaining automation test suites for modern web applications.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, enabling the creation of robust and scalable test scripts.
  • Deep understanding of software QA methodologies, best practices, and Agile/Scrum development principles.
  • Hands-on experience testing APIs (REST and GraphQL), using automation tools such as Postman or Playwright’s API testing capabilities.
  • Experience working with cloud-based test environments, particularly in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Strong understanding of front-end and backend testing strategies, ensuring a holistic approach to quality and working with product owners to identify and define acceptance criteria and test cases.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug complex issues across multiple environments.
  • Experience mentoring other QA engineers, providing guidance on test automation best practices.

Nice To Haves:

  • Experience with performance testing tools (K6, Locust, or Playwright’s experimental performance testing features).
  • Familiarity with containerized testing environments using Docker.
  • Understanding of cloud security best practices, ensuring tests validate authentication, authorization (OAuth, JWT), and API security measures.
  • Experience with visual regression testing tools, ensuring UI consistency across deployments.
  • Experience with headless eCommerce platforms such as commercetools.
  • Experience testing integrations with Contentful, Algolia, Segment, and Talon. One is ideal.
