Senior Software Development Engineer (C#)

at Access Softek

Job description

Access Softek is looking for a Senior Software Engineer C# to work on our Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) service in our fintech platform.

This service acts as an API Gateway, aggregating data from multiple backend microservices and delivering it to frontend clients (web, mobile, middleware). Built on .NET 8, containerized with Kubernetes (EKS), and fully instrumented with OpenTelemetry and Kibana, it plays a central role in how our users experience the product.

Approximate Working hours:

2am-10am PDT/PST time zone but suitable insignificant offset in both directions.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the design, development, and improvement of a high-load BFF service serving all frontend channels.
  • Collaborate closely with frontend, backend, DevOps, and architecture teams to define and deliver optimal APIs and data flows.
  • Drive the modernization of the service architecture, including the deprecation of legacy systems (e.g., Orchard CMS) and a shift toward more modular, REST-first solutions.
  • Own production reliability and performance: detect bottlenecks, propose improvements, and lead implementation.
  • Ensure sufficient test coverage, clean architecture, and maintainable code using modern engineering practices.
  • Contribute to observability and service quality through tracing, logging, and metrics.
  • Provide clear documentation for internal consumers and API users.
  • Act as a technical leader, contributing to architectural decisions, mentorship, and technical communication across teams.

What We Expect

  • At least 5 years of development experience in web applications and/or backend APIs using С#.
  • Strong knowledge in Objected Oriented Design principles, experience applying classic design and structure patterns (GoF).
  • Experience in the project with micro-services.
  • Strong problem solving abilities, system thinking.
  • Strong experience with data modeling, MS SQL Server and data access layer optimizations.
  • Experience in writing unit and integration tests (using NUnit, xUnit frameworks and FluentAssertions, Moq libraries).
  • Expertise with DevOps practices and tools, practical experience with Git.
  • Tech lead experience with complex projects, like expertise in refactoring legacy codebases, optimizing process flows, and analyzing and implementing architectural decisions.
  • Great communication skills, experience in leading technical discussions.
  • Eager to learn and build up new skills.
  • English - B2

It Would Be Great If You Have

  • Have a goal-oriented approach and the skills to drive processes with a long-term perspective.
  • Possess strong abilities to explain the pros and cons of solutions/proposals effectively.

Our Benefits

  • Remote-friendly role, depending on location eligibility.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Experienced development teams.
  • Long-term employment.
  • Paid vacation and days off on national holidays.
  • Paid sick leave and internal medical insurance policy.
  • Compensation for training and additional education.
  • Community of practice, regular knowledge sharing among colleagues.
  • Internet compensation (50$ per month).
  • Home office equipment (computer, additional monitor, etc.), if necessary.
  • And other benefits, described in detail in the Staff Handbook.
