The role
We’re building a new Systems and Tools team, and we need talented Senior Software Engineers to help build the core services that support our platform and products. You’ll work on highly visible, impactful projects that directly serve both our clients and internal teams—partnering closely with Product, Sales, and Business Development.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the design, architecture, and development of backend services
- Own and operate high-performance systems using C# and Postgres
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, design sessions, and pair programming
- Build automated testing and benchmarking systems to ensure reliability and speed
Who You Are
- 5+ years of backend development experience with .NET Framework/Core
- Skilled in relational database design and implementation (Postgres, MSSQL, Oracle, etc.)
- Comfortable working with major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Experienced in owning services end-to-end—from planning to deployment
- Strong communicator who can explain complex ideas clearly and concisely
- Collaborative, proactive, and driven to build things that matter
Bonus Points If You Have
- Experience building data-driven systems
- AdTech knowledge or industry experience
- A deep interest in scalable, intelligent systems

Location & Compensation
- Location: New York City (hybrid: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote)
Compensation is based on experience, skills, and other factors. Base salary is just one part of your total rewards at Cognitiv—you’ll also receive equity and a comprehensive benefits package.

Salary:
$160,000 - $210,000 a year
