We’re on the lookout for a Senior Software Engineer with Java/Kotlin to join our QA Infrastructure Team and help us build an awesome internal communications platform. We’re looking for empathetic and motivated team players who are motivated by growth and ownership.

As a Senior Software Engineer in QA you have solid software development skills to create, deploy and operate various automated test infrastructure components. You have a thorough understanding of clean software design and architecture and are familiar with reviewing a production codebase. You play pivotal role in developing and maintaining our internal quality assurance frameworks and facilitating adoption with our product teams.

  • Our platform is built with React.js, Javascript, Typescript, Kotlin, Go, Java, MongoDB, Terraform and Docker, to name a few
  • We use toolings like Github Actions, Cypress, Appium, Playwright, Sonarcloud or Grafana to build our QA infrastructure.

What you’ll be doing

  • You’ll be responsible for improving and developing our test frameworks including native apps and our REST-ful web services
  • Working in a dedicated QA infrastructure team producing high-quality tools and guidelines for our product teams
  • Giving and receiving valuable feedback in our code review process and continuously learning and sharing knowledge with your peers
  • Being open to feedback and taking ownership of your work
  • Taking ownership for the topics you care about, ranging from the services you produce, the documentation of our work to the environment we work in
  • You’ll work iteratively, frequently pushing code, ensuring a good CI/CD pipeline and automating where possible

What you need to be successful

  • Deep programming skills in Java/Kotlin to ensure product quality and maintain services
  • A passion for software quality, the services you build and seeking to make a difference
  • You value quality as well as clean code and learning new things. Next to that, you are passionate for Test Driven Development
  • You should be familiar with test approaches like unit tests and integration tests
  • A good understanding of REST principles and Microservices
  • Strong knowledge of GitHub Actions
  • Ideally, you have worked with MongoDB, Terraform and Docker before
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Preferably, you have worked in an agile environment before
  • Good English communication skills
  • Understanding and appreciative diversity and inclusivity in the workplace

  • Competitive Compensation - we offer attractive salary packages including  LTIP (unit-based Long Term Incentive Plan). Employees receive units (based on job level) that have no initial value, but will crystallize upon an exit event and turn into cash. An exit event is a public listing of Staffbase or an acquisition by another company
  • Flexibility- we offer flexible working time models and the option of hybrid work, and support this with a yearly flex work allowance of €1560
  • Growth Budget - all employees get a yearly budget for external training of €1000, and one day off for growth per year (increase to two days in 2nd year)
