Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work, we trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.
What you’d be doing in this role
As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that’s all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you’ll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.
At the moment, this role is focused on:
- Leading the design and development of next-generation Analytics Platform features, making data insights accessible and scalable for all Canva teams.
- Developing APIs and developer tools that transform how Canvanauts interact with, analyse, and visualise data.
- Driving continuous improvement of our CI/CD pipelines and SRE practices to streamline deployment and enhance the reliability of analytics tools and infrastructure.
- Prototyping and shipping innovative AI-driven features, such as chatbots or intelligent search, to help push Canva to the forefront of data enablement.
- Collaborating across cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact, technically challenging projects with excellence.
- Championing engineering best practices, with a focus on performance, scalability, reliability, and code quality.
You’re probably a match if:
- You have proficiency in Python, with hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience using AI in coding to drive greater impact.
- You have strong knowledge of AWS services such as EKS, EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, or equivalent Cloud provider experience.
- You have Computer Engineering Fundamentals: You have deep knowledge and understanding of Computer Engineering fundamentals and first principles.
- You bring a strong background in building scalable platforms and solving complex software challenges.
- You have a good understanding of IaC, CI/CD, SRE principles
- A plus if you’re passionate about exploring emerging AI/ML opportunities
- You lead with an ownership mindset and thrive in collaborative, fast-moving environments
- You communicate with clarity and influence, and you’re eager to empower over 5,000 Canvanauts to unlock the value of data

Our Analytics Platform team empowers every Canvanaut with efficient, reliable self-service tools to generate, discover, and manage analytical insights. Supporting over 5,000 Canvanauts, we continuously improve the discoverability of data and insights, business intelligence tools, and advanced analytics capabilities. We fuel data-driven decisions across Canva, unlocking the full potential of data democratisation and amplifying impact at every level.
