The Role

BeyondTrust is hiring our first Frontend AI Transformation Engineer to lead the AI-powered evolution of our frontend infrastructure across our cloud native products, starting with our Identity Insights product. This is a unique opportunity to shape how LLMs become embedded in our products as product features as well as accelerating our development velocity. Your goal will be to automate as much work and UI development as possible.

You’ll work closely with teams across the company to identify high-impact problems and solve them, making development among frontend experts faster, making general UI development possible for developers who are not frontend engineers by trade, and ensuring that the user experience is intuitive and performant. This includes close collaboration with the UX team to ensure design best practices are embedded into the tools and workflows you help create. With access to state of the art models, the latest cutting edge AI technologies, and with organization-wide buy-in on AI, you’ll be uniquely positioned to experiment, ship quickly, and have a broad impact across teams and products.

This role is ideal for engineers comfortable operating as a player-coach who are bold, pragmatic, and hungry for impact rather than just prototypes. What You’ll Do

  • Shape and deliver intuitive, scalable, and performant UIs for our enterprise customers
  • Use AI as much as possible to automate your own process of creating this software
  • Drive the technical direction of the UI platform, working closely with design, product, and backend teams
  • Collaborate with teams across the business to understand pain points and identify high-impact automation or process improvement opportunities
  • Architect, build, and maintain modern, scalable front-end applications using a componentized design system and cutting-edge frameworks.
  • Lead technical direction for UI initiatives, driving high-quality user experience across complex cloud-based enterprise applications.
  • Collaborate with product and UX teams to translate complex workflows into simple, performant, and accessible interfaces.
  • Own and evolve the front-end architecture to ensure it is maintainable, testable, secure, and aligned with cloud-native delivery.
  • Mentor engineers and promote front-end best practices in performance optimization, security, accessibility, and usability.
  • Partner with backend and platform teams to design APIs and interactions that optimize performance and user feedback loops.
  • Contribute to platform-wide modernization and developer experience improvements with a focus on front-end tooling and CI/CD integration.

What You’ll Bring

  • Staff-Level Impact: 5+ years in frontend at scale; proven track record driving architecture and process change
  • AI-Native Development: Production experience with Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf or similar; built AI-powered side projects or agents
  • Framework Expertise: Deep expertise in a frontend framework, such as React, Angular or Vue. We primarily use Angular but there are React sub-products as well via microfrontends.
  • Leadership & Communication: Strong technical writing, mentorship, and cross-team influence
  • Quality-First: Ability to accelerate delivery without accruing technical debt

      Frontend skills:

  • Strong TypeScript and JavaScript fundamentals with a focus on reusable components and scalable architecture.
  • Experience with large-scale enterprise UI systems and patterns (e.g., monorepos, design systems, SSR, hydration).
  • Familiarity with backend integration patterns, REST/GraphQL APIs, and front-end performance tradeoffs.
  • Understanding of cloud-native environments and how front-end apps integrate with CI/CD, monitoring, and observability.
  • Demonstrated leadership in driving front-end strategy and execution across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with security, authentication flows, and accessibility (a11y) best practices in web applications.
  • Familiarity with data visualization and dashboard frameworks (e.g., D3, Chart.js, Highcharts) is a plus.
