Aegis Ventures

We founded Aegis Ventures in NYC in 2020 as a venture studio. We partner with entrepreneurs and health systems to launch and grow healthtech startups. Our platform brings together insights, capital, and customer access to help new companies succeed faster.

Since 2020, we have launched five portfolio companies. These companies have raised over $200 million and show an 80% Seed to Series A conversion rate. We work with 25 strategic partners and co-investors.

We build AI-powered companies to solve healthcare challenges. Our portfolio includes:

• Ascertain: Automates healthcare workflows with AI agents.
• Avandra: Uses real-world imaging data for medical research, diagnostics, and care.
• Caregentic: Offers patients an AI companion to extend their care team.
• Hume: Develops voice AI that understands and responds to human emotions.
• Optain: Combines AI, retinal imaging, and oculomics for low-cost, non-invasive screening for systemic diseases.

We co-found companies with health systems and entrepreneurs in five investment areas: automating workflows, creating new biomarkers, reimagining consumer experiences, unlocking real-world data, and expanding share of care. We initially partnered with Northwell Health and have since grown our model through the Aegis Digital Consortium, which includes 14 regional health systems.
