We power personalization for more than 1,400 global brands, including American Eagle, Sonepar, and Pandora.

What challenge awaits you?

Join Bloomreach as a Software Engineer for our Web Experience Team and become part of the Engineering Team that builds highly scalable APIs powering real-time personalization for hundreds of millions of users. As a member of this team, you’ll help develop and maintain key components written in Golang and Python that deliver client-side personalization for our customers’ websites.

Your starting salary will be 3000 € per month (for the expected seniority level P2), and you’ll also receive stock options and other benefits. Whether you’re working from one of our Central Europe offices or from home on a full-time basis, you will play an integral role in delivering reliable and high-throughput products.

What tech stack and products do we offer?

The Web Experience Team is responsible for two main components - API (in Golang & Python) & Web Browser SDK (in TypeScript). These power the personalization features of our customers’ websites.

Our tech stack includes:

  • Golang (for high performance)
  • Python
  • Jinja Template Engine (plus our own implementation in Golang)
  • gRPC for efficient intersystem communication and low-latency interservices
  • Kubernetes with Google Cloud
  • GitLab CI for modern CI/CD pipelines
  • Scalable NoSQL (MongoDB)

Your primary focus will be on the API services, where you will be developing new features and maintaining the codebase to ensure quality. We do care about performance not only on the level of one system (code optimisation), but also in the area of intersystem communication, as our customers can generate significant load on our services and we need to maintain relevant throughput. That is why we use gRPC, event streams, messaging queue and fast NoSQL databases.

We rely on monitoring/alerting systems (Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry) to ensure SaaS reliability and performance under significant customer load. The team embraces E2E ownership, DevOps, and Agile principles — giving you exposure to the entire product lifecycle, from architecture/design to deployment, maintenance, and operations. You’ll also have opportunities to learn about our Web Browser SDK (TypeScript/JavaScript) with support from senior colleagues.

Your job responsibilities will include:

  1. Delivering new features.
  2. Ensuring quality and performance of developed solutions.
  3. Maintaining owned components.

Delivering new features

  • Collaborating on design and solutions with both technical and product-oriented colleagues.
  • Developing new features with a strong focus on quality and performance.
  • Maintaining and improving build and deploy pipelines in GitLab CI.
  • Prototyping new ideas.

Ensuring quality and performance of developed solutions

  • Writing high-performance Golang and Python code.
  • Measuring and tuning performance of our APIs.
  • Ensuring that APIs sustain peak load and leverage monitoring to rapidly detect and resolve performance issues.
  • Collecting and monitoring performance metrics.

Maintaining owned components

  • Assisting client-facing colleagues in investigating potential issues (L3 support).
  • Regularly fixing found issues..

Your success story will be:

  • In 30 days, you’ll be fully onboarded, have participated in collaborative design and development, and contributed minor improvements or bug fixes to the API or CI/CD pipelines — with active mentorship from the team.
  • In 90 days, you’ll have participated in the design and delivery of new feature or significant improvement, taken ownership of monitoring or performance-tuning a subsystem, and confidently participated in end-to-end product development activities.
  • In 180 days, you’ll be independently leading the design, implementation, and optimization of major components; proactively supporting colleagues and customers; and contributing to architectural discussions and reliability initiatives within the Web Experience Team.

You have the following experience and qualities:

Professional experience

  • Knowledge of Golang or Python

    • If you are new to Golang, strong skills in a similar scripting language and a demonstrated ability to learn quickly are welcome.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and other DevOps tools.

  • Experience with CI/CD approaches, ideally using GitLab CI.

  • Experience designing and optimizing APIs for high-concurrency, low-latency environments (e.g., handling thousands of requests per second).

    • Bonus if you’ve worked with event-driven architectures, message queues, or horizontally-scaled, stateless services.
  • Knowledge of gRPC for efficient API communication.

  • Understanding of monitoring and alerting in a cloud environment (using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry).

Personal qualities

  • Ability to work effectively and reliably within a team. Oliver
  • Willingness to learn new concepts and technologies to develop your skillset.
  • Proactive problem-solving and a “can-do” attitude.
  • Fluency in English.
