The Elastic Search AI Platform, used by more than 50% of the Fortune 500, brings together the precision of search and the intelligence of AI to enable everyone to accelerate the results that matter. By taking advantage of all structured and unstructured data — securing and protecting private information more effectively — Elastic’s complete, cloud-based solutions for search, security, and observability help organizations deliver on the promise of AI.

What is The Role

The Observability Ingest team at Elastic is responsible for building tools to collect and ingest data easily, efficiently, and quickly. Learn more about them on our website here or even better by testing the data ingestion user experience yourself on Elastic Cloud. We are responsible for Elastic Agent as a unified data collector for elastic solutions, Fleet as a central management platform, Integrations platform as a marketplace experience to discover and build third-party integrations to bring data into Elastic stack, and data transformation and processing tooling of Logstash, ingest pipelines and runtime fields.

The Elastic Agent Control Plane team is looking for an engineer to join us in building unified and flexible data collection and management. This person will continue to expand the team’s work in deploying and scaling Elastic Agent on Kubernetes using the Operator pattern. If you are looking to work on a high-impact, high-adoption product with a diverse and versatile engineering team, please come join us!

What You Will Be Doing

  • Maintain and evolve the current Beats platform, Elastic Agent, and Fleet Server, all written in Go.
  • Design and build features for macOS, Windows, and Linux.
  • Work with our support team to help customers.
  • Engage with our community, understand their needs, and help them use our products.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to ship enterprise-ready software.

What You Bring

  • Production experience using Go for systems development.
  • System-level knowledge of either Linux, Windows, and/or macOS.
  • Experience participating in technical conversations.
  • Operational experience with monitoring systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, strong problem solving, and ability to debug and fix sophisticated issues.
  • Ability to work in a distributed team throughout the world.
  • Bonus: Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Bonus: Experience collecting data on the edge and shipping to a central place.
  • Bonus: Production experience with cross-platform development and packaging.
