Job description

Product Development Dept / Full Time / Remote

Canvas Medical is the electronic medical records (EMR) and payments development platform for healthcare. We build modern, elegant front- and back-end tooling to enable new ways for developers and clinicians to collaborate to solve healthcare’s toughest challenges. Canvas is institutionally backed by some of the greatest technology investors in the world (funded notable health tech companies such as GoodRx, Oscar Health, and Hims & Hers Health).

The Role

We’re hiring a Technical Product Marketer (TPM) to join our product development team and help define how the world understands, evaluates, and builds on the Canvas platform. You’ll work closely with our Developer Advocate, engineers, leadership team, and customers to tell compelling, accurate stories about how our SDK, APIs, and EMR capabilities solve critical challenges in healthcare delivery.

This role is ideal for someone who is technically proficient (has been a developer or can comfortably read and write code), but who thrives on simplifying complexity and creating clarity through content. You’ll own the Canvas website, developer documentation, technical blog, and serve as a critical bridge between product development and external stakeholders. You will ensure that the market is aware of how technically robust and flexible the Canvas platform is, how easy it is for organizations to use, and the outcomes and impact we are driving for our customers and their patients.

This is a hands-on, high-leverage role for a marketer who wants to go deep technically and have a seat at the table where product, developer experience, and go-to-market intersect.

Who We Are

We are a tight-knit group with diverse backgrounds, deeply committed to our mission and our users. We believe that healthcare can serve everyone in the US more effectively and our role in doing that is to give caregivers superpowers with software. We strive to be humble, hungry, and smart — both people-smart and problem-smart. We believe success comes from optimizing for the whole, and we welcome everyone’s ideas to the table. We focus on intentional growth so we can expand our skills and apply them to accomplish new goals. We are dedicated to helping each other be our best.

What You’ll Do

Translate Technical Features into Customer Value

●      Partner with product and engineering to understand the full suite of Canvas capabilities and what’s on the roadmap, and turn them into compelling positioning, messaging, and artifacts that resonate with both technical and non-technical buyers.

●      Own the Canvas Medical marketing website and developer docs site, ensuring both are continuously up-to-date, discoverable, and conversion-optimized. Engage with and take an ownership mindset over the output from different stakeholders across the organization as necessary to create content, graphics, videos, and layouts. Developer documentation is high quality, usable, and effective in enabling developers to utilize the Canvas developer tools.

●      Improve quality and completeness of the extensions index page on the marketing website (search, tagging, EMR linking) and individual extension pages, both “basic” and “featured” extensions. Collaborate with our marketing and communications team to distribute high quality content marketing about new and existing Extensions.

●      Create and maintain feature overviews, capability matrices, competitive comparisons, and product explainer content — including screen recordings of coding and development with Canvas developer products — and surface them in the right place to the right audience at the right time.

Develop High-Quality Technical Content

●      Write (and edit) blog posts, whitepapers, release notes, integration guides, use-case walkthroughs, live-coding videos, and example code using the Canvas SDK, APIs, and EMR platform.

●      Collaborate with engineers and the Developer Advocate to produce compelling technical tutorials, videos, or demos that demonstrate Canvas in action.

●      Ensure content reflects our high standards for clarity, completeness, and correctness.

Create Market Awareness of Canvas’ Capabilities and Differentiation

●      Build technical marketing campaigns to drive platform adoption.

●      Provide GTM teams with technical enablement materials (e.g., product briefs, integration architectures, solution guides) that support selling to technical stakeholders.

●      Help define messaging for new feature launches and work with commercial teams to operationalize rollouts.

●      Partner with Customer Success to create guides, resources, and artifacts that accelerate our customers ability to obtain value and scale with Canvas.

Engage the Developer Community

●      Contribute to Canvas’s developer-facing voice in GitHub discussions, Slack communities, and healthtech events.

●      Partner with our Developer Advocate to gather feedback from developers and technical teams and bring insights back to product and engineering.

●      Collaborate on product demos and hands-on workshops for developer audiences.

●      Build thought leadership around the future of customizable EMRs and extensible healthcare tooling.

Who You Are

●      You have been a software developer or have worked closely with developers and can read and write code fluently (Python preferred).

●      You love storytelling and have a strong intuition for how to simplify technical concepts for different audiences (e.g., CTOs, clinical operators, engineers).

●      You’re an exceptional writer with a portfolio of technical content that spans documentation, blogs, or marketing assets.

●      You thrive in fast-paced, cross-functional teams where you’re expected to take initiative and operate with autonomy.

●      You understand the developer mindset and know how to market to a dual audience: technical implementers and business decision-makers.

●      You’re curious, scrappy, and passionate about using software to reshape industries, especially healthcare.

●      You are actively trying various new tools and technology, whether its the newest foundation model to a no code web framework, and understand how to leverage them to increase your productivity and make your work more impactful.

What Success Looks Like at 90 Days

●      Canvas’s website and developer docs have clear structure and a model to clearly communicate our platform value, product capabilities, and developer capabilities.

●      Our most recent product releases are supported with excellent guides, release notes, and content that accelerates adoption.

●      Sales and customer teams are equipped with technical artifacts that help close deals and onboard customers faster.

●      The broader healthtech developer community is engaging with Canvas’s thought leadership and platform capabilities.

Qualifications:

●      4+ years in a technical product marketing, developer marketing, or solutions engineering role at a developer-first or platform company.

●      Demonstrated success owning or contributing to a public documentation site, technical blog, or company website. Experience writing technical documentation that is clear despite the complexity it describes.

●      Experience marketing APIs, SDKs, or developer platforms.

●      Familiarity with modern web stacks (Python, React, REST APIs, gRPC, Postgres).

●      Deep critical reasoning skills and strong business judgment to make sound decisions and provide clear rationale.

●      Experience working in or adjacent to the healthcare or digital health sector is a strong plus.

●      Preferred - experience with Vercel and Prismic

$150,000 - $200,000 a year
