Technical Writer - Europe (60%, Fully Remote)

Role Overview

As a Technical Writer, you will report to our Head of Communications and collaborate closely with the Product Team to create a high-value, clear and easy to understand product documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the Documentation Process: Take full ownership of the end-to-end documentation lifecycle, from planning and content creation to review, approval, and publication.

  • Create and Edit Technical Documentation: Write, edit, and maintain comprehensive user manuals, product documentation, and helper texts to ensure users have clear and accurate information.

  • Develop Instructional Materials: Design clear and concise step-by-step instructions for users, incorporating screenshots, diagrams, and videos when necessary to enhance understanding.

  • Update Learning Materials: Regularly update internal and external learning materials to ensure all teams know how to use the solution effectively.

  • Update and Revise Existing Documents: Regularly update existing documentation to reflect new features, improvements, or changes in the products.

  • Ensure Consistency and Clarity: Review documents for consistency in style, tone, and terminology to ensure clarity for diverse audiences.

  • Manage Version Control: Track document versions and revisions to maintain accurate historical records and ensure the latest information is always available.

  • Develop Help Systems: Build and maintain user-facing help systems, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides to assist users in resolving issues independently.

  • Prepare Release Notes: Write detailed internal and external release notes for software updates highlighting new features, bug fixes, and changes.

  • Conduct Usability Testing: Collaborate with QA teams to test documentation for accuracy and ease of use, incorporating feedback for continuous improvement.

What will make you successful

  • Technical Writing–1–2 years of professional experience in technical writing, preferably within the aviation industry or a similarly complex technical environment.

  • Proficiency in Writing Tools– Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) such as Paligo, and strong working knowledge of documentation tools including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Aviation and Inflight Services Knowledge–Understanding of aviation industry standards and workflows, particularly in areas such as load planning, meal planning, flight ordering, and inventory management.

  • Learning Development – Ability to design and structure content for educational purposes, supporting user onboarding, team training, and product adoption through well-organized and engaging learning materials.

  • Version Control– Experience managing document versions and revisions to ensure accuracy, traceability, and up-to-date information.

  • Usability Testing– Ability to conduct usability testing for documentation to validate clarity and effectiveness, incorporating feedback to drive continuous improvement.

  • Visual Content Integration– Competence in creating and integrating visual assets such as screenshots, diagrams, flowcharts, or videos to support written content.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration– Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with product, development, QA, marketing, IT, and customer service teams.

  • Attention to Detail– Exceptional attention to detail to maintain consistency in style, tone, structure, and terminology across all content.

  • Language Proficiency– Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (C1 level or higher), essential for creating clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.
