  3. Business banking: Overcoming a key challenge for Entrepreneurs by offering digital banking services to new businesses

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic UI/UX Lead to join our team and drive the design of exceptional user experiences for our platforms.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in UI/UX design, with a strong background in designing complex B2B software solutions. As the UI/UX Lead, you will be responsible for leading the design vision, defining user flows, creating intuitive interfaces, and ensuring the overall quality of the user experience for our platform.

This role also involves liaising with internal and external stakeholders and also includes a user feedback loop to constantly improve the platform in terms of user engagement.

Mission: Is to make Sleek a platform which users (Internal & External) love to visit, promote and work on in their day to day usage.

Outcomes:

  1. Increase the MAU of users coming on the platform from 23% to double that to 46% in the next 12 months.
  2. Help improve the NPS score of the users on platform usage and get it to a minimum of +20
  3. Standardise the design output to reduce the delivery time of new designs by a minimum of 20%
  4. Knowledge of latest design tools including figma.

To do this, you will have to perform below key responsibilities:

Lead the UI/UX Design Process:

  • Oversee all aspects of the design process from research and ideation to prototyping and final implementation.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Managers, Developers, Business Analysts) to define and implement design solutions.

  • Lead user research efforts to gather insights, analyze user feedback, and iteratively improve the product.

  • Design wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes to clearly communicate design concepts.

  • Build customer feedback loops to constantly improve the user experience basis actual usage rather than stakeholder perceptions.

  • Define design principles  and guide to bring in standardization of components which the entire design team uses for the future.

  • Drive the vision and roll-out of new gen Sleek 2.0 platform.

  • Use data-driven design approaches using tools like hotjar, maze etc. to validate design choices and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to ensure the platform remains competitive and user-friendly.

  • Team Leadership, Mentorship and Stakeholder Management:

    • Lead and mentor a team of UI/UX designers, ensuring high-quality design standards and consistent execution.

    • Provide guidance and support to junior and mid-level designers in areas of user research, prototyping, and visual design.

    • Foster a collaborative and creative environment to drive innovation and user-centered design thinking.

    • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective design solutions.

    • Advocate for the importance of user-centered design practices within the organization to then churn out experiences keeping users in mind rather than perception based approach.

  • Key Qualifications for the role are as follows,

    • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in UI/UX design, with at least 3-4 years leading design teams, ideally in B2B SaaS platforms or enterprise-level applications.
    • Proven track record of designing B2B platforms and would be a good to have experience in the accounting space.
    • Solid understanding of UX research methods and how to apply findings to the design process.
    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions clearly to both
    • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus, though not mandatory.
    • Understanding of front-end development processes and collaboration with engineering teams to ensure design feasibility and consistency.

About the interview process

The successful candidate will participate in the below interview stages.

It might seem like a lot - but fear not - we come prepared! We anticipate the process to last no more than 3 weeks from start to finish depending on your availability.

Whether the interviews are held over video call or in person will depend on your location and the role.

  • Introductory call

    • A ~15 minute video call with a member of our HR team to discuss your application and get a better understanding of your experience and expectations for the role
  • UI/UX Design Round

    • A ~60 minute chat with the UI/UX Designer
    • We’ll discuss your portfolio or the case study that you shared and other questions related to your skills and experience
  • Career deep dive

    • A ~60 minute chat with the Hiring Manager
    • We’ll discuss your last couple of roles to understand your experience in more detail
    • In addition, we’ll be trying to gauge your where your strengths lie
  • Behavioural fit assessment

    • A ~60 minute chat, usually with a member of HR or the leadership team
    • We’ll dive into some recent work situations to understand how you think and work
  • Reference interviews

    • We’ll have 2-3 short phone or video calls with references that you provide to us
    • So as to not delay your offer, we may ask your permission to have these calls earlier on in the interview process

Requirement for background screening

  • Please be aware that Sleek is a regulated entity and as such is required to perform different levels of background checks on staff depending on their role.

  • This may include using external vendors to verify the below:

    • Your education
    • Any criminal history
    • Any political exposure
    • Any bankruptcy or adverse credit history

We will ask for your consent before conducting these checks.  Depending on your role at Sleek, an adverse result on one of these checks may prohibit you from passing probation.
