About Masabi

We were founded in 2012, offering Justride, a Fare Payments-as-a-Service platform for public transport. Our platform helps agencies and operators with mobile, account-based, and contactless ticketing, as well as smart cards, barcodes, and Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS).

We launched the UK’s first mobile ticketing app with Chiltern Railways in 2007. In 2012, we brought the first mobile ticketing system to a US transit agency using Justride. Justride is a robust, secure, and reliable cloud-native platform with an open architecture. It offers a full suite of APIs and SDKs for easy integration and operation.

We serve over 200 agencies and operators. Our goal is to increase ridership, reduce wait times, and connect communities by offering flexible payment options and smooth travel experiences. We specialize in ticketing, transport ticketing, mobile ticketing, account-based ticketing, open payments, fare collection (AFC), and software development. We have offices in New York, London, Cluj (Romania), and Denver.

Mission & Values

Our mission is to revolutionize fare payments, improving transit for millions and making travel seamless for everyone.

We aim to transform fare payments by moving away from old, closed systems. We want to redefine how fares are collected and revolutionize the passenger experience. We focus on delivering ticketing innovations quickly and affordably, ensuring fair access for all riders, and empowering connected communities. Our ultimate goal is for public transportation to be the first choice for everyone, making transit fair and accessible.

Team & Culture

We have between 201 and 500 employees. We offer a remote-first work environment, with some roles having remote or hybrid options. Our culture values innovation, passion, and consistent delivery.

Collaboration is key; our teams work closely together to ensure success and share the load when challenges arise. We promote a fun, collaborative environment focused on making a difference. We also value continuous learning, mentoring, and inclusive design. Teams are encouraged to share knowledge, adopt new tools, and improve processes across all functions.

Benefits & Perks

We offer various employee benefits, including vacation allowances. Depending on your region, this might be 15 paid days plus 18 public holidays, or 20 days annually, with the option to buy 5 additional days. We also shut down the office between Christmas and New Year, which means over 28 total vacation days.

Employees receive private healthcare and life insurance (through Trinet in some regions), along with menopause support. We offer workstation choice and enhanced family leave. We support professional development with training allowances (up to CAD$1300 or $750 USD annually) and provide home office allowances (CAD$325 or $250 USD annually).

Employees can work from any country for up to three months a year. Some roles also receive monthly team bonding allowances and paid on-call rotation (in addition to salary).
