Job Description
You will be joining the HVAC team located in Bellinzona, Zürich and Lausanne belonging to the Building Services & Environment” Business Unit. This unit has approximately 92 employees globally, including Electrical designers and energy/environmental specialists. With more than 20 years of experience, the group is able to provide architects with all the services they need to develop energy-aware projects and design all the technical components inside the building.
Main focus for this group are projects related to buildings, industrial facilities and data centers.
You key responsibilities are:
- Design of low and high voltage electrical systems for residential and industrial buildings
- Design of low and high voltage electrical systems for datacenters
- Sizing of sensitive high voltage systems using dedicated software (Integra Excel or Schneider Electric)
- 2D drawing (AutoCAD)
- 3D modeling (Revit - BIM)
- Preparation of principle schematics (AutoCAD) for high voltage, low voltage, safety and emergency systems
- Preparation of multipolar electrical panel schematics
- Lighting calculations using dedicated software (Relux CAD-Revit)
Qualifications
Must have:
Minimum 7 years of experience
Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering or vocational training in electrical design
Experience in datacenters and industrial facilities
Understanding of technical concepts such as redundancy, control, and system integration
Knowledge of Swiss and European standards in electrical systems (SIA-EN)
Familiarity with CDE management (Common Data Environment)
Coordinating work of junior designers
Deep understanding of the BIM process
Independent and structured working style
Flexibility to deal with challenging projects
Ability to collaborate across disciplines and coordinate projects
Languages: German C1, English B2
Good to have:
8-12 years of experience
Proficiency in Revit MEP
Generating BoQs from Revit for bids and cost estimates
Technical leadership: Evaluation of candidates with potential to lead small teams, which may be useful in the future for coordinating junior modelers
Italian language skills
Remote work capability (you need to be able to operate autonomously in a distributed environment)
