About Torc Robotics
Based in Blacksburg, Virginia, we develop autonomous software for the trucking industry. Daimler Truck acquired us in August 2019, but we operate as an independent subsidiary.
Our focus is on commercializing self-driving trucks, specifically for the Freightliner Cascadia, to make freight transport safer and more efficient. We integrate leading sensors into our trucks and work with fleet management companies and other partners (like Schneider, Daimler Truck, Aeva, and C.R. England) to deploy real-world autonomous solutions and build a connected ecosystem.
We’ve been developing autonomous vehicle solutions since 2007, building on 20 years of expertise in the field. Our software development for automated trucks includes neural rendering, generative models, sensor simulation (camera, LiDAR, radar data) in cloud-based ML environments, and BEV and road-lane modeling using machine learning.
Mission & Values
Our mission is to build the future of freight: safer roads and efficient transport of essential goods. We aim to be the world’s leading autonomous trucking solution.
