Your mission: As the Lead of the AML & KYC Operations team at Bitpanda, you will own the operational success of the team. Your role is to ensure that AML processes run with precision, scalability, and integrity, while delivering an outstanding experience for both external and internal stakeholders. You are a hands-on leader, ready to go the extra mile, balancing regulatory requirements with operational excellence and customer success.
What you’ll do
- Lead & Own: Act as the primary point of contact for AML escalations (Proof of Funds/Wealth and transaction monitoring) and provide clear, timely case overviews.
- Operational Success & Process Excellence: Take full ownership of initiatives that improve efficiency, automate manual tasks, and strengthen investigative capabilities. Guarantee accuracy, compliance, and customer orientation in AML and KYC workflows.
- Empower the Team: Mentor, guide, and motivate team members to deliver results and continuously improve performance.
- Collaborate & Align: Work closely with the AML & KYC Operations Senior Manager and key stakeholders to refine processes and document best practices.
- Customer Success Focus: Ensure that both users and internal partners receive clear communication, prompt support, and a frictionless experience throughout the AML journey.
Who you are
- Education: University degree in Economics, Finance, or Law.
- Experience: Proven background as an Operations Team Lead with expertise in financial crime prevention.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of the European regulatory landscape (AML Directives, FM-GwG, ESAs AML/CFT Guidelines, MiCAR, Travel Rule) and financial crime typologies.
- Leadership & Skills: Demonstrated people leadership with strong communication, project management, and problem-solving skills. You thrive in fast-changing environments and are passionate about building success-oriented, customer-centric teams in the crypto space.
