As part of the Destination Sport Group Amaze specialises in global destination management for professional sports organisations. With dedicated staff across Europe and North America, plus further group resources across key global territories including Asia, Oceania and the Middle East, we provides world-class logistical support to elite teams, governing bodies and major events.

As part of offering we are experts in-destination solutions for teams and their entourages, including customs assistance, hotels, ground transportation, social programmes and VIP services.

As part of our continued growth, we are now looking for a Project Manager to operate, maintain and grow the football and other sports business into Portugal.

No two days are the same in this exciting, fast paced role. As part of this role, you will:

  • Plan and deliver football and other sports operations onsite within and - if necessary - outside your designated region

  • Manage the excellent relation with our key clients

  • Maintain and expand our portfolio of clients

  • Prepare and coordinate the UEFA draws (Champions League, Europa League etc.) for your region

  • Manage existing suppliers throughout the year to ensure best possible value creation

  • Identify potential new suppliers and partners in your region

  • Manage the budget for each operation and post event reconciliation

  • Book and invoice individual services requested by our Destination Sport colleagues

  • Create Proposals (PPT) for upcoming operations

  • Manage operations with our inhouse tool ARENA incl. invoicing

  • As part of this role you will handle the logistics of our sports teams and their entourage coming into their designated region.

This includes the team, sponsors & commercial partners, officials, media and supporters with the corresponding individual needs and priorities. Hotel contracts must be negotiated, transportation requirements need to be implemented, coordination with security and local authorities, support in the handling of the airport procedure for arrival and departure, management of logistics at the stadium

Requirements

To be successful in this role you will have

  • Experience in similar position in sports, sports logistics, or tourism & event management

  • Excellent local knowledge and good network of contacts

  • Excellent negotiations skills towards suppliers and clients

  • Very good language skills (English and Portuguese mandatory)

  • Excellent at multitasking and able to prioritize and meet deadlines

  • Leadership skills to be able to lead an operation with several stakeholder involved

  • Strong planning and execution skills

  • Excellent project and time management skills

  • A Degree in tourism / business administration / marketing / event management would be highly desirable but not essential
