Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer (18307) to join a global engineering team focused on building advanced geophysical data processing applications. This role involves UI development, cloud integration, and collaboration with international teams across Europe, Canada, and the U.S. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java, cloud platforms, and scientific computing, with a passion for solving complex visualization and data interpretation challenges.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop and maintain UI applications in Java for geophysical data processing.
- Design and optimize advanced solutions for data visualization and interpretation.
- Implement graphical interfaces using Eclipse RCP/SWT.
- Build thin and thick client applications connected to cloud-based microservices.
- Participate in technical and architectural discussions, presenting proposals.
- Conduct unit testing, code reviews, and support CI/CD pipelines.
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot DSG applications.
- Use development tools such as GitLab, VS Code, and Eclipse RCP/SWT.
- Optimize performance using VisualVM, JMC/JFR, and Async Profiler
Qualifications and Skills
- +4 years of experience as a Java Developer
- Proficiency in Java, Swing, Eclipse RCP, SWT, and C++.
- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with scalable data processing using Kubernetes and Spark.
- Knowledge of Java 2D and OpenGL 3D for graphical programming.
- GPU acceleration with CUDA (C++/Java).
- Microservices development using Quarkus, Spring Boot, and AWS API Gateway.
- Containerization and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
