Job Description

IQ EQ Netherlands N.V. currently has a vacancy for a Compliance Officer for our second line Compliance team, reporting to the Compliance Leader. As a Compliance Officer you will focus on daily compliance support for IQ-EQ Amsterdam and ensure that the business complies with its outside regulatory and legal requirements as well as internal policies and bylaws. This requires a “hands-on mentality”, a high level of connectivity, backed by knowledge of the WTT and Wwft. Knowledge of Wft and GDPR is a pré and part of your job is to keep your knowledge up-to-date through in-house courses and attend periodic audits and trainings by DNB, AFM and HQ (Branch organisation for Trust Offices).

You will guide and advise the business (our management included), answer complex compliance questions in a clear and easy manner. Compliance knowledge is embedded in our full organisation. You are the go-to person for second-line compliance queries and you will ensure the continuance of compliance awareness amongst your 200+ IQ-EQ colleagues in Amsterdam.

You’ll be part of a team preparing and implementing the annual Compliance Monitoring Planner (CMP), doing the research that goes into the monitoring and reporting regarding the items of the CMP to our management and to IQ-EQ Group.

Qualifications

  • We are looking for passionate people with a high level of “connectivity”, who wish to excel, both personally and for (internal) clients;
  • You take ownership and have a natural drive for results;
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar (international) environment;
  • You preferably have a Bachelor/Master’s degree in Dutch Law and have completed BOTO;
  • Profound knowledge of WTT, Wft and Wwft (CDD) regarding the life cycle of a client relationship in general and of Fund Structures and their participants in particular is a must, knowledge of GDPR is a pré;
  • Ability to work under pressure and to manage various and conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment, while meeting deadlines and quality standards;
  • You are trustworthy, a team player, flexible and a fun colleague to work with;
  • Your communication skills are excellent, both verbal and in writing in English (Dutch and/or a 3rd language pré);
  • You can act as sparring partner to the business; are a good listener and collaborative;
  • Capable of giving presentations and address and negotiate on all related subjects in own area of expertise at internal meetings

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist implementing risk and compliance guidelines, internal strategy and in implementing policies of IQ EQ NL;
  • Assist implementing IQ-EQ Group policies in local procedures;
  • Together with the local Compliance leader and the team, responsible for implementing legal and regulatory requirements, Group and local guidelines and internal strategy, and for designing and maintaining R&C framework;
  • Focus on particular service lines (either Corporate & Depositary Services OR Funds and Structured Finance Services); together with the Compliance manager responsible for the day-today Compliance activities (CMP, Compliance Advice, Ad hoc enquiries) in your focus area;
  • Pro-actively contribute to advice to the client teams on risk and compliance issues, new legislation and guidelines in order to anticipate and respond on national and international developments;
  • Create risk and compliance awareness and cooperation within IQ-EQ NL staff; and contribute to the development of compliance, risk related trainings of personnel;
  • Proactively participate in promoting a data-driven and constructive “pro-Compliance and risk” culture in the organisation, especially assisting Client teams in incorporating all compliance standards in their ways of working;
  • Advise, challenge and guide on (re-)acceptance of clients in line with applicable legislation and regulation and Group and local policies and procedures;
  • Contribute to annual planning and implementing IQ-EQ NL’s Compliance Monitoring Plan; and execution and reporting thereof;
  • Assisting to determine, prepare, write and implement compliance- and risk procedures, manuals, forms, monitoring- and quality plans;
  • Proactively manage own development, encompassing both technical and leadership requirements to a level appropriate to the role and which promotes IQEQ values
